The graph below shows the consumption of 3 spreads from 1981 to 2007.

Summarize the information below showing the main features and making
comparisons where necessary
The line graph illustrates the consumption of
three kinds of spreads named margarine, low fat
& reduced spread, and butter in grams over 26
years from 1981 until 2007.
Overall, it can be seen that though the
consumption of low fat and reduced spreads was
lower at first, it rose rapidly and became the most
widely used spread in the final years while the
consumption of other two spreads drastiscally
decreased over the period.

To begin with, the most popular spread

consumed in 1981 was butter at around 140
grams, which was far higher than its counterpart
margarine at around 90 grams and then
decreased until they both met in 1991 at 100
grams. The consumption of butter decreased
steadily and finished at around 50 grams, while
margarine stayed constant at 100 grams over
next five years and then nose dived to 40 grams in
2007.

In sharp contrast to this, the consumption of low

fat and reduced spreads was not even introduced
until 1996; from around only 10 grams of
consumption in 1996, it then shot through the
roof to just over 80 grams in 2001when it started
to replace the dominance of other two spreads.
Thereafter, its consumption slightly fell to about
70 grams, which was still the mostly consumed
spread in 2007.
