Do you like holidays? Why?
Yes, definitely. I think holidays are something everyone looks forward to because they give us
a chance to take a break from school, work. For me, holidays are a perfect time to refresh
myself, spend time with my family, or travel somewhere new. Even a short holiday can really
help me clear my mind and feel more positive.
Who do you like to spend your holidays with, friends or family?
I would say I prefer spending my holidays with my family. Because of the busy with my
studies most of the time, holidays are one of the few chances for me to slow down and enjoy
quality time with them. Of course, travelling with friends can be exciting and full of fun, but I
still prefer having holidays with family.
Where do you usually go on holidays?
It really depends on the season and how much time I have. If it’s a short holiday, I usually just
go back home or visit somewhere nearby. But if I have a longer break, I’d love to go to places
with beautiful beach. I think being close to ocean is a great way to escape the daily grind.
When was your last holiday?
My last holiday was last week. I had a short trip with my friends, and even though it
wasn’t a very long vacation, it was still really enjoyable. We had good food, took some
photos, and just spent time relaxing together. It was simple, but it gave me a quality
time to break off.
Days off
When was the last time you had a few days off?
I think the last time I had a few days off was around a month ago, during a long weekend. I
didn’t do anything too special. I mostly stayed at home, sleep or play with my cats. It may
sound a bit boring, but honestly, it was exactly what I needed after a stressful period of
working.
What do you usually do when you have days off?
When I have days off, I usually take things slowly. I may sleep, listen to music, or go out for
coffee with my friends. Sometimes, I also use that time to clean my room or finish some
personal tasks. But in general, I try not to make my days off too busy because I want to relax.
Do you usually spend your days off with your parents or your friends?
I think I split my time between them. If I haven’t visited my parents for a while, I’ll spend my
day off with them. But if I’m already at school or in the city, I usually hang out with my
friends. We may try some food, go shopping, or just walk around and talk.
What would you like to do if you had a day off tomorrow?
If I had a day off tomorrow, I’d probably go on a short food trip with my friends. I’d love to
visit some local restaurants, try different dishes, and maybe take some nice photos. I don’t
think I would plan anything too complicated. Just a simple and relaxing day would be perfect
for me.

Well, as someone who enjoys travelling, I usually like to bring home a small souvenir whenever I visit
a new place. Today, I would like to talk about a handmade keychain that I bought during a trip to Da
Nang, which is one of the most famous tourist destinations in central region of Vietnam.
I bought it at the Da Nang night market, where there were many small stalls selling local handicrafts,
clothes, bags, and souvenirs. The keychain was not very expensive, but it immediately caught my eye
because of its strange design. Although it was just a small item, it looked very unique and different
from the usual souvenirs like magnets or postcards.
The main reason I bought it was that I wanted to keep something that reminded me of the trip. Da
Nang left a strong impression on me because of its beautiful beach, friendly people. When I saw the
keychain, I felt that it somehow represented the culture and atmosphere of the place.
Another reason was that I wanted to support the local sellers. Many of the items there were handmade,
and I think buying a small product from them is a nice way to show appreciation for their work.
Overall, I felt really happy about buying it. It may not be an expensive or fancy souvenir, but it carries
a lot of memories. Every time I look at it, I remember the fresh air, the ocean views, and the relaxing
time I had in Da Nang.

How was travel in the past sometimes more comfortable than it is today?
I think travel in the past could be more comfortable in some ways because it was usually
slower and less crowded. For example, trains used to have more spacious seats, and people
didn’t have to rush as much as they do today. Nowadays, many forms of transport focus too
much on speed and efficiency. Airplanes, for instance, can feel quite cramped, especially in
economy class. So even though modern travel is faster, it is not always more relaxing.
What environmental problems are caused by different ways of travelling?
Different types of travel can cause several environmental problems. Air travel produces a large
amount of carbon emissions, which contributes to climate change. Road travel, especially by
petrol or diesel cars, also releases harmful gases and air pollutants. In addition, too much
tourism can damage natural areas or local wildlife because visitors may leave rubbish. So,
while travel is enjoyable, it can put a lot of pressure on the environment.
What changes to travel do you expect to see in your lifetime?
I think travel will become much greener and smarter in the future. Electric vehicles will
probably become more common, and high-speed trains may replace short-distance flights in
some countries. I also expect to see more self-driving cars and better public transport systems.
These changes could make travelling more convenient, safer, and more environmentally
friendly. So I believe the future of travel will be quite exciting.
How has worldwide travel benefitted international understanding?
Worldwide travel has helped people understand other cultures much better. When people visit
other country, they can try local food, traditions, lifestyles, and languages directly. This can
help reduce stress and make people more open-minded. Travel also encourages cultural
exchange and international cooperation, especially in business, education, and tourism. So I
think global travel plays an important role in connecting people around the world.
Does increasing travel to remote places have a negative impact on those places?
Yes, I think it can have both positive and negative effects. On the one hand, tourism can bring
money to remote areas and create jobs for local people. But on the other hand, too many
visitors can damage the environment and change the local way of life. For example, tourists
may leave litter, disturb peaceful areas, or cause overdevelopment. So I think tourism in
remote places needs to be carefully managed to protect both nature and local culture.
