Project Presentation

The document presents the electrical system design for a 2BHK residential accommodation in Trichy, detailing the dimensions of each room and the calculations for lighting, AC, and power loads. It emphasizes balanced load distribution across three phases to ensure system efficiency and stability, with specific power requirements outlined for various appliances. The total connected load is calculated to be 14530W, with strategic allocation of high-power appliances to maintain balance among the phases.

Lightning Load Calculation of a 2 BHK Residential house

Lighting load was calculated based on the number and wattage of lighting fixtures installed in each
room to ensure adequate illumination and energy efficiency.
The total lighting load was divided equally among the three phases (R-Y-B) to achieve balanced load
distribution, minimize voltage imbalance, and ensure stable system operation.

• The air-conditioning load was estimated as 1.283 TR based on room dimensions and cooling requirements
therefore, a standard 1.5 TR air conditioner was proposed to ensure adequate cooling, reliable performance, and a
safety margin for varying heat loads and future demand.

Power sockets were used for high-power
appliances such as geyser, washing machine,
refrigerator, mixer, iron box, and vacuum cleaner,
as these appliances draw higher current and
require dedicated power connections for safe and
reliable operation.
The connected power loads were distributed
among the three phases (R-Y-B) after load
allocation to achieve balanced operation, reduce
voltage imbalance, and improve system efficiency.
Final phase-wise load distribution after connecting
the power loads is as follows:
R Phase = 3800 W
Y Phase = 3750 W
B Phase = 3800 W
Total Power Load : 11350W

Total Load of a 2BHK Residential House
Lighting Load (TLL): 1080W
Power Load (TPL): 11350W
AC Load : 2100W
Load distributed at each phase after connecting all loads including lightning load,
AC load, power load are:
R:4807W
Y:4899W
B:4824W
Grand Total Connected Load (TCL): 14530W
To achieve balanced load distribution among the R, Y, and B phases, high-power
appliances connected through power sockets were strategically allocated across
different phases based on their power consumption.
Power sockets were selected according to appliance load requirements and
connected through suitable ratings such as 6A, 10A, and 16A to ensure safe
current carrying capacity and reliable operation.
