Screening test
3. A new diagnostic test for typhoid fever was validated using blood culture as the gold
standard. 200 culture positive typhoid cases and 200 cases with non-typhoid febrile
illness were subjected to this test. Totally, there were 210 who turned out to be test
positive; but 30 of these were culture negative.
