It is not always possible to expand a warehouse. To increase the storage area to accommodate new pro-
ducts, space saving storage solutions must be found. Whether you are planning a new warehouse or mo-

Mobile Bases
Any number of Cantilever and Selective Rack rows can be mounted on mobile
bases. These are electrically powered to move on rails. The service aisle is
opened only when needed. The guide rollers, which are arranged on the outside
and generally have a double wheel flange, are not driven, since they are used
exclusively for correction of the parallel motion of the mobile bases. The brakes
are always on when the mobile bases are in the inoperative position and they
cannot be moved from the end position by the impact of a forklift. SSI SCHAEFER mobile bases are struc-
turally designed so that a straddle style forklift can drive under them. Mobile bases can be provided as an
option for use with your existing pallet racking.
