Climate Change and Its Impact on Humans - Presentation Script

Slide 1: Climate Change and Its Impact on Humans

Good [morning/afternoon], everyone. Today, I’m going to talk about Climate Change and
how it impacts us as humans.

Slide 2: Introduction
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges we face today. It's mainly driven by human
activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation. Addressing it requires urgent global
action.

As the former president Barrack Obmama has said:

Slide 3: What is Climate Change?

Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. While
some changes are natural, human activities have accelerated the process by releasing
greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane.

Climate change refers to significant and long-term changes in the average temperature,
weather patterns, and other climatic conditions on Earth. It involves shifts in the Earth's
climate system caused by both natural processes and human activities, with the latter
primarily driving recent changes. The most prominent factor contributing to current
climate change is the increase in greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide (CO₂), methane
(CH₄), and nitrous oxide (N₂O), which trap heat in the atmosphere.

Human activities like burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes have
drastically increased the concentration of these greenhouse gases, leading to a warming of
the planet. This warming disrupts ecosystems, accelerates sea-level rise, increases the
frequency and intensity of extreme weather events (like hurricanes, droughts, and floods),
and affects biodiversity.

The consequences of climate change are far-reaching, including shifts in agricultural

productivity, impacts on water resources, disruptions to ecosystems, and heightened risks
to human health and infrastructure. Efforts to mitigate climate change focus on reducing
emissions, transitioning to renewable energy sources, protecting natural carbon sinks (like
forests), and adapting to unavoidable impacts through resilience strategies.

Slide 4: Key Causes of Climate Change

The key causes include burning fossil fuels for energy, deforestation that reduces carbon
absorption, industrial activities, and agricultural practices.
Slide 5: Global Warming
Since 1880, the Earth's average temperature has risen by about 1.2 degrees Celsius. This
warming causes more extreme weather events, melting glaciers, and rising sea levels.

Slide 6: Impacts on Human Health

Climate change affects human health, causing heat-related illnesses, spreading diseases,
threatening our food and water supplies, and impacting mental health.

Slide 7: Impacts on Livelihoods

Our livelihoods are at risk too. Farming suffers due to poor crop yields, ocean acidification
harms marine life, and millions are forced to leave their homes, becoming climate refugees.

Slide 8: Social and Economic Inequalities

Climate change also deepens social and economic inequalities. Vulnerable communities,
especially in developing countries, suffer the most and have fewer resources to adapt. We
must address this through climate justice.

Slide 9: Environmental Changes Affecting Humans

Environmental changes include loss of biodiversity, more frequent natural disasters, and
threats to our access to clean water and air.

Slide 10: What Can Be Done?

We can respond by mitigation—reducing emissions through renewable energy and
reforestation—and by adaptation, like strengthening infrastructure. International
agreements like the Paris Agreement are vital.

Slide 11: Role of Individuals

Individuals can make a difference too: reducing carbon footprints, supporting green
policies, and raising awareness in our communities.

Slide 12: Conclusion

In conclusion, climate change is a real and urgent threat affecting all aspects of human life.
Only through collective action can we build a sustainable future.

Slide 13: Thank You

Thank you for listening. Let's work together to protect our planet. If you have any questions,
I’d be happy to discuss them.
