GIC FINAL SCRIPT
Riyan:
Every year, around 9 million people die from hunger,
and over 720 million people go to bed hungry each
night. One major reason is that 30–40% of crops are
lost before reaching stores due to labor shortages and
inefficient harvesting.
Johann:
The effects are devastating:
• Food shortages
• Malnutrition and disease
• Rising poverty
That’s why we created RoboFarm.
Riyan:
The main problems we are solving are:
• Too few workers to harvest crops on time
• Crops damaged during sorting
• Unpredictable weather
• Expensive farming automation
Johann:
Our SDG Goals for RoboFarm:
[Link] Hunger:
• Ensure there is enough food for everyone
[Link] Consumption and Production:
• Reduce food waste and save resources
[Link] Poverty:
• Create new jobs in smart farming
Add this
Johann:
RoboFarm solves these problems with four AI-powered
technologies.
GrabZ is an autonomous robot that detects ripe fruits,
picks them carefully, and reduces crop loss during
harvesting.
Riyan:
SpectraSort automatically sorts fruits using AI color
detection, making the process faster and more
accurate. AquaSense monitors soil moisture and
waters crops only when needed, reducing water waste
and improving crop health.
Johann:
We also designed an AI Security Camera system that
monitors the farm, guides the robots, and detects
unauthorized access in real time.
Now, the financials. CAPEX, or Capital Expenditure, is
the one-time setup cost needed to build and install
RoboFarm. It includes the robots, AI cameras, sensors,
batteries, and software. Our CAPEX is estimated at
USD 125,000 to 140,000.
OPEX, or Operational Expenditure, is the yearly cost
needed to keep RoboFarm running. This includes
maintenance, repairs, electricity, internet
connectivity, and software updates. Our annual OPEX
is only USD 14,000 to 15,000.
Without RoboFarm, farms earn around USD 70,000
yearly. With RoboFarm, efficiency improvements can
add USD 92,000 annually, increasing total profit to
USD 162,000. This means RoboFarm pays for itself in
just 1.3 years.
Riyan:
Our market strategy:
• Target large-scale farms facing labor shortages and crop wastage
• Build B2B partnerships with equipment companies and government
programs
• Reach smaller farms through agri-tech platforms and online
marketplaces
Riyan:
Our future goals are to expand harvesting for more
crop types, improve sorting technology, and connect
all systems through IoT for smart real-time
monitoring.
Johann:
RoboFarm saves time, money, water, and labor while
improving food production year-round.
