Nurse Steph:
"Mr. Alavera is newly diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I need to coordinate teaching with the
healthcare team and educate him about medication, diet, and lifestyle changes."
(Nurse knocks and enters room)
Nurse Steph:
Good morning, Mr. Alavera. I am Nurse Steph avecilla, and I will be assisting you today. How
are you feeling this morning?
Mr. Alavera:
Good morning, nurse. Honestly, I feel worried because the doctor said I have diabetes and I
don’t know much about it.
Nurse Steph:
I understand your concern, mr alavera. Many patients feel the same way after being
diagnosed. Dont worry im here to guide you step by step so you can manage your condition
properly
Daughter:
Nurse, we are really scared since this is new to us.
Nurse Steph:
That’s completely normal. Diabetes can be managed well with proper medication, diet, and
lifestyle changes. I will coordinate with the doctor and dietitian so we can create a plan that

mr. Alavera, Diabetes happens when your body cannot properly control sugar in your blood.
When blood sugar becomes too high, it can affect your heart, kidneys, eyes, and nerves.

fish or chicken, and one fourth carbohydrates like rice.(Points to the chart)
Wife:
Can he still eat rice every day?
Nurse Steph:
Yes, but in controlled portions, maybe one cup per meal. We will ask the dietitian to prepare a
detailed meal plan for him.

Nurse nicole (voiceover):
Lola Rosa is scheduled for surgery, but she looks confused and anxious. I must ensure her
rights and understanding are protected.
Scene 2:
Nurse nicole:
Good afternoon, Lola Rosa. I noticed you seem a bit worried. Would you like to talk about it?
Lola camille:
Yes, nurse…. They gave me this paper to sign, but i dont really understand what will happen
to me
Nurse nicole:
Thank you for telling me. You should never feel pressured to sign anything you don't
understand. Let's go through it together first.
(Tingin yung paper)
Scene 3:
(Doctor enters)
Doctor:
Good afternoon, did you already sign the consent form so we can proceed with surgery
tomorrow.
Lola camille:
Im not sure yet...
Nurse nicole:
Doctor, may we take a moment? The patient has expressed that she does not fully
understand the procedure yet.
Doctor:
Oh, I see. Thank you for letting me know.
Nurse nicole:
Thank you, doctor.
Scene 4:
Nurse nicole:
Lola Rosa, it's your right to receive clear information before making a decision.
Nurse nicole:
Doctor, could we explain the procedure again?
Doctor:
Ofcourse. We will perform a minor procedure to remove the infection in your stomach. You will
be given anesthesia so you won't feel pain. It usually takes less than an hour.

Are there risks? And what will happen after?
Doctor:
