What is Business Management 2B about?

•We will explore the South African management


environment and examine the application of
general management principles.

•We will also investigate the various functions


performed by managers and the skills needed
to perform optimally.
What is in this module?
Lectures:

• We have two 2-hour lectures per week

• Tuesday, 10am-12pm, and Thursday, 1pm-3pm.

Assessments:

• You will have a group assignment, 2 online tests and a proctored exam.

Formative Assessments:

• Online Tests (2x10%)

➢ Each test is 90min and will open on Friday at 8am and close on Sunday at 23:59.

➢ Test 1 in Week 4, covering content from Weeks 1-3.

➢ Test 2 in Week 6, covering content from Weeks 4-6.

➢ Deferred tests in week 7.

Formative Assessments:

• Group Assignment (30%)

➢ groups of 3-4 members, pick a leader to submit your assignment.

➢ Due in Week 5, on Friday 23/08 at 23:59.

➢ You will need to sign-up your groups by the end of week – anyone not signed up by
then will be allocated to a random group.

• A minimum of 10 academic sources is required for this assignment.

➢ If less than 10 sources are used, the assignment will be marked out of 50% not
100%

➢ You will additionally receive a penalty for every missing source, up to -10%.

• Any issues of plagiarism or AI use may result in a mark of zero.

• Proctored Online Examination (50%)

➢ Will be written in Week 8.

➢ Will likely be a 3-hour exam.
