Two-Month Badminton Sports Program

Title: Development of Sports Participation Program for Fostering an Active

Lifestyle Among Grade VI Learners

Rationale

Badminton is a widely known sport in the Philippines. It is one of the sports predominantly played by pupils in the Elementary
Department. which is why they love this sport very much. This sport helps our young learners a lot, especially our players. It helps enhance their
physical fitness, agility, speed, coordination, balance, self-confidence, and most of all, self-discipline. Through regular involvement in this sport,
they have more opportunities to develop healthy lifestyle habits and become more productive and useful individuals in school, at home, and in the
community as a whole. Nowadays, very clear to all of us that our young generation are very addicted to the use of gadgets. They are spending too
much time on their gadgets, which leads them to become less physically active. Because of this, most of our learners are not actively participating
in sports. The researcher had decided to create a program about sports to help our young learners reduce their time spent on gadgets. Let us protect
and save our students through developing a structured sports participation program. Let us encourage them to join regularly in physical activities,
particularly sports. Sports have a huge impact on the lives of every individual, especially on our health. We all know that health is our greatest
wealth. Everything is affected if we are not healthy and strong enough. Our studies are affected, our job, our connection to our friends and relatives,

Title: Development of Sports Participation Program for Fostering an Active

Lifestyle Among Grade VI Learners

Rationale

Sports have a significant impact on our lives because they are one of the keys to living a better and more enjoyable life. As they
say, “Movement brings energy and strength”. Sports participation is indeed crucial for every individual because, without proper action or
movement, we cannot create something worthwhile. Playing volleyball helps our young learners develop different skills like serving,
receiving, passing, setting, digging, spiking, blocking, and defensive technique. It will help them develop different physical skill- related
components like agility, balance, coordination, power, reaction time, and speed. These skill components help our players a lot to boost
their performance in athletic competitions. Develop also the health-related component of fitness, such as cardiovascular endurance,
muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition. These components help us reduce the risk of diseases.
When students become more engaged in sports, more opportunities for them to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, cooperation,
respect, discipline, and fair play. Furthermore, the program supports our young learners, especially the Grade VI pupils, in the

Title: Development of Sports Participation Program for Fostering

an Active Lifestyle Among Grade VI Learners

Rationale

Basketball is one of the most favorite sports in the world. This sport is very popular and enjoyable among pupils/students. Playing
basketball eventually helps our young generation to become more energetic and healthy individuals. They will strengthen their immune

are prone to various diseases. This basketball program is designed by the researcher to help our young learners lessen their unhealthy
lifestyles, motivate, and strengthen their involvement in sports. They will learn the different skills in basketball, like dribbling, passing,
shooting, blocking, footwork, and defensive techniques. They will also enhance their physical fitness skills like speed, agility, strength,
balance, coordination, flexibility, and decision-making skills. Provides more opportunities to build teamwork, sportsmanship,
