Lab Guide
Note: The screenshots are only for your reference. Your LMS may
look different depending on your course's content.

This section will help you:


● Use labs to execute the demos included in this course

Step 1: Log in to Simplilearn LMS


● Go to the course
● Click on PRACTICE LABS on the LMS

Choose PRACTICE LABS

Step 2: Go to MySQL-workbench
Step 3: Click on LAUNCH LAB

Step 4: Click on LAUNCH LAB


Step 5: Click on Go To lab-host-1183213

Step 6: It will take you to this Virtual Environment. Click the MySQL
Workbench icon.
Step 7: The MySQL Workbench application will open; click Local instance
in MySQL connections.

The SQL code editor, which you can use to write and execute code is shown
in the image below:
Step 8: To run the code, select Query and click on Run

Step 9: To view the output and error details, place the cursor between the
slide and the bottom of the screen as shown below, and drag towards the
top.
You will be able to see the query status and output after the code is
executed.

Step 10: To view the created database or schemas, click on the Next icon
You will be able to see the created databases or schemas.

Step 11: To create a table, write CREATE TABLE PERSONS (ID INT); in
the code and click on run.
Step 12: Download the Datasets from the Course Resources section and
unzip and save the file in the local system.
Note: All the datasets are provided in the lab environment; if you want to
work offline, you can download these datasets.

Step 13: To upload a dataset to the database, right-click on Tables in the


database and click on Table Data Import Wizard
Step 14: Click on Browse and select the EMP_TABLE.csv where you have
saved it
Step 15: Select theEMPLOYEE_DB.csv file and click on Open
Step 16: Click on Next

Step 17: Click on Drop Table if exists and select Next


Step 18: You can verify the Source Column Field Type. Now, click on
Next.

Step 19: Click on Next


Step 20: You will be able to see the tick mark after the tasks are completed.
Now, click on Next.

Step 21: You will be able to see the total number of records imported. Now,
click on Finish.
Step 22: To view the imported records from the table, write SELECT *
FROM EMP_TABLE in the code editor and click on run

You will be able to see the EMP_TABLE table as given below:

Step 23: To export the dataset from the table, right-click on EMP_TABLE
and choose Table Data Export Wizard
Step 24: You can select the columns you want to export. Now, click on
Next.
Step 25: Click on Browse… and choose any location, such as Desktop, and
give any file name of your choice. Now, click on Next.

Step 26: Click on Next


Step 27: Click on Next
Step 28: Once it is downloaded, you will be able to see the below image and
click on Finish.

After the completion of all the tasks, exit the lab.


After exiting the lab, go back to the Simplilearn website and stop the lab by
clicking the deallocate tab.

In conclusion, this SQL lab guide covers opening, importing, and exporting
data, providing a comprehensive toolkit for seamless database navigation.
Follow these steps if you are facing any panel visibility problems in
VM.
Step 1: Right-click on the panel at the top > Panel > Panel Preferences...

Step 2: Change the Automatically hide the panel option to Intelligently

Once the Next option is visible, please proceed to the next steps.
