Title: Arduino-Based Moving Smart Dustbin
ABSTRACT
Cleanliness and proper waste management are essential for maintaining a healthy
environment. This mini project focuses on the design and development of a Moving Smart
Dustbin using an Arduino Uno and basic embedded system components. The objective of
the project is to reduce manual handling of waste and promote smart sanitation practices.
The system uses an ultrasonic sensor to detect obstacles and avoid collisions during
movement. A Bluetooth module enables wireless control of the dustbin using a mobile
device. DC motors driven by a motor driver are used for movement, while a servo motor
provides controlled mechanical operation. The entire system is powered by a 12V
rechargeable battery, making it portable and suitable for indoor and small-scale outdoor
applications.
This project demonstrates a simple, low-cost, and e ective application of embedded
systems in waste management. The moving smart dustbin can be further enhanced with
additional automation features and implemented in smart homes, institutions, and public
places.
