Speaking Task Part 2
In the IELTS speaking part 2 you will have to talk on a
topic that the examiner gives you for two minutes. It is
designed to test your ability to speak for an extended
period without hesitation or repetition.
You will be given a card that asks you to 'describe'
something. They are topics that you should have some
experience of or know something about.
Speaking Task Part 2
You may need to talk about…
a person you know what you would do with a lot of money
a place you’ve been to a house you would like to live in
a possession you have a talent you might want
an experience (positive and negative) a dream job
You will have one minute to prepare what you are going
to say, and you'll be given a paper and a pencil (or a
board and marker) to make notes if you want to.

On the booklet there will also be three sub-points that you
should cover when you are speaking.
Describe an exciting experience in your life.
You should say:
•When the experience took place
•Where the experience took place
•What happened exactly
And explain why the experience was so exciting

Speaking Task Part 2 is one of the best methods?
• Because you have knowledge of the topic.
• It’s easier to talk about something you have already experienced
• Storytelling is natural for humans
• You can put more emotion into the topic which will help your
pronunciation
