Questions:

1. It was very important to choose an appropriate value for x

because if you chose a number that was too small your
rooms would be way to small, and there would be a lot of
excess space, if you had too big of a number your rooms
would not be able to t into the dimensions of the property.

2. Dividing the rooms that were irregular sizes into two squares
instead of an L allowed me to come up with two proper
formulas.

1. I arranged my rooms in a way that resembles similar places

to the majority of houses, for example; most houses don't
have the entrance lead right into the bedroom and to get to
the living room you must go through the washroom. In my
house the entrance opens up to the whole house, and the
bedroom has direct access to the washroom.

2. The room that was the most di cult to arrange was the
kitchen and the living room, because they were the two
biggest shapes and required all the other rooms to go
somewhere speci cally.

3. With the extra space in my oor plan I decided to add an

open space that allows for a wider entrance into the
bedroom and kitchen.

1. It is very important to measure twice and cut once because
often when you are measuring a second time you nd
mistakes in your original measurements. When I started to
draw out the rooms I realized that the area remaining was not
what it should have been, so I had to re check all of my math
and I found two errors.

2. Incorrect calculations could a ect an actual building by

making it so certain rooms were too big when put beside
other rooms, and the house could end up going over the
property lines leading towards grumpy neighbours.

1. If I had additional space in my house I would have added a

garage/shop, and a fenced in back yard for my dog and kids.

2. In order for my house to have a more environmental style

there could be trellis panels on the side of the building
allowing for plants and vines to grow up around and help
support the ecosystem.
