A: Good evening everyone. Today we are going to talk about climate change in 2026.

B: Yes, we were looking for some information on the internet about this issue. We
organized the ones we found and prepared a report. Actually, our supervisor asked
us to be very thorough with the data.

A: I'll start by talking about global warming. Greenhouse gas emissions remain high
and are unlikely to fall enough to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. This is an
international treaty created to combat climate change, aiming to stay below $1.5°C$
of warming.

B: That’s really terrible. Regarding visible impacts, extreme wildfires and record
temperatures are becoming frequent. For example, several Latin American countries
have experienced extreme weather events. Experts said that the situation was
getting worse every year.

A: People in those regions are really affected; they told reporters that they were
suffering a lot. But Americans will also suffer because of policy changes regarding
emissions. If we compare old policies with current ones, the protection is much
weaker now.

B: That’s why we look for solutions. Our mentor told us to focus on immediate
actions for the improvement of the planet.

A: Exactly. We must use renewable energy like solar, wind power and also hydraulic
energy. We also need to improve the efficiency of basic things so people use less
energy.

B: Finally, we must make our families aware of the situation. My brother asked me to
share these tips with everyone we know, as it is a good way to warn of what can
happen if action is not taken in time.

A: Please remember that caring for the planet is everyone's responsibility. You can
start with small actions such as separating recyclables from trash, or even
volunteering to clean up beaches.

B: A scientist explained that if we all come together, we can create change for the
better. He advised that we continue to raise environmental awareness and improve
the health of our planet.

A: We have certainly been able to explain a little about this bigger problem, and I
hope you will take our recommendations.

B: Yes, we certainly hope we have raised a little responsibility. With nothing more to
say, we'll see you next time.

Both: Thank you for listening.
