patterns).
2. Recognize rules in patterns.
3. Create their own patterns.
4. Understand basic idea of sequences.

Activity by integration of Activity 1: Complete the Pattern


Art 3, 6, 9, __, __
10, 20, __, __
Activity 2: Create Your Own Pattern
Students create patterns using:
Numbers
Shapes
Exchange with partner to solve.

Class Work 1. Number Patterns


Explain with examples:
2, 4, 6, 8 → adding 2
5, 10, 15, 20 → adding 5
Ask: 1. What is the rule?
2. Can we continue the pattern?
2. Visual Patterns
Draw shapes:

Ask students to identify and extend.


3. Growing Patterns
Example:
1, 3, 5, 7, __
Explain that patterns can increase using a rule.

4. Introduce Simple Rule Form


Explain in simple language:
Pattern rule = “what we do each time”
Example: Add 2 each time
Multiply by 2
