Statement of Purpose

(RPTU University of Kaiserslautern [Link]. applicant - Computer Science)

My introduction to software and algorithms began with a fascination for video games,
particularly their ability to simulate intelligent behavior in non-playable characters (NPCs).
The dynamic decision-making, pathfinding algorithms, and adaptive difficulty levels
captivated me and sparked my curiosity about how such systems worked. This interest grew
more when I studied "Visual Basic" and 'C' during high school, where I explored the
foundational principles of programming. The early exposure inspired me to pursue a
bachelor's degree in computer science, during which I became increasingly passionate
about software design and its applications in real-world systems. My fascination with
software systems deepened when I learned about self-driving car technology. Discovering
how complex algorithms and intelligent systems work together to enable these vehicles to
navigate complex environments was a turning point, fueling my passion for innovative
solutions. With around a year of experience as a software developer in a tech company, I
believe a Master's in Computer Science at the RPTU University of Kaiserlautern-Landau will
equip me with advanced technical knowledge and exposure to the university's
innovation-driven ecosystem.

During my bachelor's program, I focused on data structures, the design and analysis of
algorithms, and object-oriented programming as core modules. The skills I acquired through
these modules enabled me to develop efficient knowledge regarding computer programs. My
interest in artificial intelligence and autonomous systems emerged as I explored projects and
academic materials related to machine learning and intelligence systems. For my bachelor's
thesis, I delved into AI concepts to analyze the behavior of autonomous agents in simulated
environments using pathfinding algorithms and decision-making frameworks. This
experience gave me hands-on exposure to AI's practical challenges and opportunities.

During the final year of my bachelor’s program in 2022, my classmates and I collaborated on
a project to create a basic recommendation system tailored for small retail stores. Our goal
was to predict ideal locations for new stores by analyzing spending power, foot traffic,
spending power, and nearby competition, using publicly available data—the project aimed to
uncover the relationship between a store’s location and its sales performance. While we
didn’t discover a clear pattern in the data, the experience was incredibly valuable. It taught
me how crucial data quality is when training machine learning models. It also gave me
practical insights into the factors that influence such models. Beyond the technical aspects,
the project enhanced my teamwork and problem-solving skills, as we worked together to
navigate challenges and adapt our approach when things didn’t go as planned.

In 2023, I joined Cybage Software Pvt Ltd as a Trainee Software Engineer, where I worked
on front-end development. I was responsible for creating a responsive and user-friendly web
interface using modern frameworks and tools. Working closely with peers and mentors on
various training projects improved my problem-solving skills and teamwork, giving me the
confidence and experience to handle real-world software development challenges.

In 2024, I transitioned into the role of a Software Engineer specializing in front-end

development. During this time, I worked on creating scalable and interactive web
applications, contributing to developing intuitive user interfaces using modern frameworks
like React and Angular. Collaborating with senior engineers, I focused on optimizing
performance and ensuring a seamless user experience. This experience sparked my interest
in understanding how front-end systems integrate with larger architectures and fueled my
desire to broaden my knowledge of advanced AI-driven systems, particularly those powering
autonomous technologies.

Additionally, I am pursuing a Minor Certification Course in Gen AI from the Indian Institute of
Technology. In this course, I am exploring the role of Machine Learning, Vector Mathematics,
and the Internet of Things in Artificial Intelligence. I am also studying GPU architecture and
its importance in training and running AI models. Designed for parallel processing, GPUs
excel at accelerating the matrix operations fundamental to deep learning algorithms.
Working on these projects has convinced me to gain a strong foundation in databases and
distributed systems to deepen my software expertise. I believe it is the right time to enhance
and expand my academic skills to build a more comprehensive understanding. The Master's
program in Computer Science aligns perfectly with my career aspirations, offering a solid,
research-driven curriculum and a diverse, dynamic student community. I am particularly
looking forward to Prof. Dr. Peter Liggesmeyer’s “Software Engineering” lecture. Additionally,
I find Prof. Dr. Andreas Dengel’s research into “Artificial Intelligence” highly relevant to my
interests.
The Global Innovation Index ranks Germany among the top innovative countries, offering a
strong student culture with corporate tie-ups. Home to one of the biggest automotive
industries, Germany can provide me with plenty of opportunities in the machine learning and
data science domains. Next to my studies, I am interested in sports such as football and
cricket. Furthermore, I was also an active member of the social activity club during my
undergraduate studies. We organized multiple workshops and visited NGOs to encourage
young students to explore the software world. I am fascinated by the university’s
collaborative project initiatives with partners, particularly the Max Planck Institute for
Software Systems (MPI-SWS), German Research Centre for AI (DFKI), and Fraunhofer
Institutes. I look forward to writing my master’s thesis on one of the research projects offered
by these partner institutions.
After graduate studies, I see myself working as a software professional at a global
technology company. I am also interested in collaborating with fellow students and the
affiliated “industrial partners” of the program. My long-term goal is to attempt to build a
startup to design software models that will contribute to the welfare of our society. I believe
the professional networks I make with the university’s faculty members, students, and alumni
network will be a long-term advantage in achieving this goal.

In conclusion, having a rigorous academic background and practical experience in computer

science engineering, I believe I have done the groundwork required to pursue the Master's
degree from the RPTU University of Kaiserslautern-Landau. After connecting with the alumni
from the Informatics department, I'm convinced that the program fits my objectives. With an
aspiration to work as a data professional and leverage the career platforms of the university
as a launchpad for the industry, the master's degree will help me reach my potential.
