Class 10 Science Practical File (CBSE Format)

Experiment 1: To test pH of different solutions

Aim: To find the pH of given samples using pH paper.

Materials: pH paper, test tubes, samples (lemon juice, soap solution, water).

Procedure: Take samples, dip pH paper, compare color with chart.

Observation: Lemon → acidic, Soap → basic, Water → neutral.

Result: Different substances have different pH values.

Precautions: Use clean dropper, avoid contamination.

Experiment 2: Verify Ohm's Law

Aim: To verify Ohm’s Law.

Apparatus: Battery, resistor, ammeter, voltmeter.

Procedure: Connect circuit, vary voltage, record current.

Observation: V/I is constant.

Result: Ohm’s Law verified (V ∝ I).

Precautions: Tight connections, avoid overheating.

Investigatory Project: Electricity Consumption at Home
Objective: To calculate electricity consumption of household appliances.

Method: Note wattage and usage time of devices.

Formula: Energy = Power × Time

Observation Table: Appliance | Power | Time | Energy

Conclusion: High power devices consume more electricity.

Application: Helps in saving electricity.
