Reflection on lesson 1

It was 22nd Feb 2024, we went to Government Comprehensive High School Sukkur for
practicum. I taught English subject in class 9 th, Section B and the topic was introduction to
Grammar, language and its components. . My pair-mate was Muhammad Hassan Kamal who
observed my teaching. I used teacher-centered teaching method and inductive teaching approach.
I started my teaching with some probing questions about languages and grammar, its components
and applications for what we learn grammar. Then I explained by myself with examples. After
that I divided whole class into three groups and asked them to decide captain. After that I set
some rule and played a game in which every group have chance to tell me write answer and get +
mark.

The aim of my teaching was to improve pedagogy of English and way of making class
interesting for students, so that they do not get bored. I implemented lesson as I had planned to.
Like completed topic and applied assessment activity and implement a game. If I shed light on
my important aspect of my teaching, it was that I taught perfectly and engaged students too.
Secondly, I managed class and kept maintained class decorum. And unimportant aspect of my
teaching was that I failed in time management. Like I had to complete my class before two to
three minutes earlier, but I kept continue even after the bell had rung Because my assessment
activity was remaining. Secondly, I noticed some of the boys were not paying attention and were
yawing. They might be feeling bore . Because as a good teacher my teaching must be interesting
for every student. .

Overall, I tried my best to implement my lesson plan so perfectly. Next time, my focus will be
time management. I will try to complete my whole teaching within time. And I will have to focus
on my voice which should not be monotonous, so that students do not feel boring.
