Inviting applications for the role of Senior Manager – Controls Testing
In this role, the Senior Manager is the Risk Subject Matter Expert (SME) who plays a crucial role in
identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks within the organisation. This role involves providing expert
advice and guidance on risk-related issues, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and
supporting the development and implementation of risk management strategies.
Responsibilities
• Strategic Leadership:
o Lead the development and execution of risk management and controls strategies for
assigned business streams, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s overall risk
framework.
o Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, providing expert guidance on risk and
controls matters.
• Risk Assessment and Controls Design:
o Conduct thorough risk assessments across multiple business streams to identify
potential risks and vulnerabilities.
o Design, implement, and monitor effective controls to mitigate identified risks, ensuring
compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
o Workstream Management: Lead and manage all activities within the assigned
workstream, ensuring alignment with the overall program or project objectives.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
o Serve as the primary point of contact for all risk and controls issues within the assigned
streams, engaging with key stakeholders across the organisation.
o Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to integrate risk and control measures into
business processes.
• Project Management:
o Lead risk and controls projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with
organisational objectives.
o Coordinate with other project teams to ensure that risk management considerations
are incorporated into all relevant projects.
• Planning & Execution: Develop detailed workstream plans, including timelines, resources,
and milestones. Monitor progress and adjust as necessary to stay on track.
• Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to raise awareness of risk
management practices across the organisation.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience:
o 10+ years of experience in risk management, internal controls, audit, or a related field,
with a strong focus on leadership and strategic planning.
o Proven track record in leading and executing risk and controls initiatives across
multiple business streams.
o Extensive experience in assessing the risks and controls environment for Banking and
Other financial services industry.
• Attention to Detail:
o High level of attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in risk assessment and
controls design.
• Technical Proficiency:
o Expertise in risk management frameworks (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000) and controls
standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
o Proficient in risk management tools and software (e.g., SAP GRC, Archer).
• Leadership Skills:
o Strong leadership abilities with experience managing and mentoring teams.
o Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead complex projects and
initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in risk management, Finance, Business Administration, or related
field.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Risk Management
Professional (CRMP), or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of risk management principles, regulatory requirements, and industry best
practices.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and assess complex risks.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
