Binary Code System

The document explains the significance of binary code as the fundamental communication medium between humans and computers, highlighting its role in natural language processing (NLP). Binary code, consisting of the digits 0 and 1, allows computers to interpret and categorize human language into mathematical expressions. The historical development of binary code is traced from its invention by Gottfried Leibniz to its application in modern computing and electrical devices.

Binary code system

If we say that computers have uprightly changed our lives we are not wrong. Today we depend from
our daily chores to business projects mainly on computers. Here the question arises what is medium
of communication between a human being and a computer? Though computers response us in the
same language that we use still they are not able to understand our language like any of the human
brain. They use Neutral language processing method using their artificial intelligence. NLP is the
medium that help interacting a human being and a computer through any language. Using this
technology, computers categorize our language into various parts each containing similar
grammatical structures. Meanings are interpreted from each category and hence the language is
analyzed. To interpret meaning in NLP procedure binary codes are used. Binary code that is a data
based on two symbols is used by a computer processor. These two symbols 0 and 1 are called binary
digits. Binary code creates patterns on the basis of these binary digits, each pattern shows one
symbol. Various combinations of 8 bits can create up to 256 combinations and hence when various
combinations are created we can get a huge variety of symbols. This whole series of combination
covers all the language categories even decimals and upper case and lower case letters.

Binary code was originally invented by a mathematician Gottfried Leibniz in 1689 on the pattern of
number system created by Thomas Harriot in 16th century. Leibiniz was looking for a system that
could change human language into mathematical expressions, in search of this he came across an
ancient Chinese script named “ching” or “the book of change”. This book supported Leibniz thought
of expression language into mathematical expressions and he created row of pattern with 0s and 1s.
how this system could be used, he was not aware of this fact.

In 1605, an English philosopher and statesman Sir Francis Bacon, introduced biliter steganography
method that could be used to hide secret messages. In this method eacg word was replaced with a
five letter combination of a and b. in 1847 George Boole published a paper explaining a three-
optioned system and, or and not. In 1937, Claude Shannon explained in his thesis that Boolen
Algebra is similar to electric current and can be implemented in electrical devices. This lead to the
use pf binary codes in computers and electrical appliances. Now, various digital numbers made with
the combinations of binary code are present in form of on off data in any CPU or RAM. 1s show on
while 0s show off binary numbers, and this binary system is the base of all operating systems.
