and stakeholders without lengthy conversations

❖ an electronic message sent over a cellular
network from one cell phone to another by

❖ the most personal form of business
communication
❖ your personal text number is reserved for
a few close associates
❖ tend to be more urgent than email
Instant Messaging
❖ a system for sending messages quickly over the Internet from one
computer to another computer (Merriam-Webster)
❖ can contribute to the success of your negotiations
❖ tends to be for longer discussions than texting
❖ you can engage someone in another city, state or country in a
conversation
❖ one advantage is that you can take time to think before you respond
Social Networking
❖ the use of Internet-based social media programs to make connection
with friends, family, classmates, customers or clients ([Link])
❖ for social or business purposes
❖ you will have to adjust your
communication style
❖ you gather ‘friends’ on these sites
❖ place for relationship marketing
Tweeting
❖ act of sending welcomed messages to people you are connected
to via social media ([Link])
❖ allows you to broadcast very short messages called “tweets”
❖ can be used for social or business
purpose
❖ current or latest updates are
posted immediately by reliable news
sources or organizations
Blogging
❖ ‘blog’ is short for ‘web log’
❖ often written by amateurs
❖ business promotion through product/service reviews
❖ a primary communication channel to the public of some companies
from sole proprietorship to large corporations
Video Conferencing
❖ a face-to-face meeting with users in

❖ can save travel money
❖ can be used by companies who need to
communicate in different parts of the world
Multimedia
a combined use of several media, as
sound and full-motion video in computer
applications ([Link])
a combination of text, audio, images,
animations, video and interactive content

or larger fonts;
incorporate high quality

eliminate the use of
headings or titles;
use animation, slide transitions,
audio, and video sparingly;
highlight the most important
information in tables and graphs;
create a handout; and
be passionate.
