The Preliminary period introduced me to the advanced

principles of classroom assessment anchored in

Outcomes-Based Education. I learned about the different
types of assessment and the importance of aligning our
teaching strategies with the desired learning outcomes.
We also discussed performance-based assessment,
which made me realize that evaluating students goes
beyond written tests-it should also measure what they
can actually do. This period gave me a strong foundation
on how assessment supports the teaching and learning
process effectively.

During the Midterm period, our focus shifted to the

practical side of assessment. I learned how to develop
rubrics, which are essential tools for scoring performance
tasks fairly and objectively. We also studied different
ways of giving feedback and how to use portfolio
assessment to track students' progress over time.
Understanding formative assessment strategies was very
helpful because it taught me how to monitor learning
and adjust instruction while the lesson is still ongoing.
This period honed my skills in designing tools that truly
measure student learning.

The Prefinal period covered important topics such as self

and peer assessment, inclusive assessment, and data
analysis. I realized that students should also be actively
involved in evaluating their own work and their
classmates' work to develop responsibility and critical
thinking. We also discussed how to make assessments
inclusive to cater to the diverse needs of learners.
Additionally, learning how to analyze and interpret data
helped me understand how to use assessment results to
make informed decisions for improving instruction.

Taking the subject Assessment in Learning 2 has been a very

meaningful experience for me as a future educator. Before this
course, I thought assessment was just about giving grades, but
now I understand that it is a comprehensive process of
planning, implementing, and interpreting results to support
student development.
This subject equipped me with knowledge on how to create
rubrics, design performance tasks, use portfolios, and apply
different assessment strategies. I learned the value of making
assessments that are ethical, inclusive, and aligned with the
goals of education.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our instructor,
Mr. Teodoro R. Revidad, for guiding us throughout this
semester. His dedication and clear explanations made complex
topics easier to understand and apply. Thank you for sharing
your expertise and for inspiring us to become competent
teachers who are not only knowledgeable in instruction but
also skilled in assessing learning.
As I move forward, I will carry these lessons with me and apply
them to become an effective educator who can properly
evaluate and nurture the potential of every student.

The Preliminary period laid the foundation for

understanding the role of assessment specifically in
Mathematics education. I learned how to align
assessment tools with the K-12 curriculum standards and
learning competencies. We discussed how to evaluate
not just knowledge, but also skills, reasoning, number
sense, and algebraic thinking. This period made me
realize that assessing Math goes beyond computation; it
must also measure how well students understand
concepts and can apply logical reasoning.

During the Midterm period, we focused on assessing

specific branches of Mathematics such as functions,
geometry, measurement, statistics, and probability. I
learned the different ways to evaluate students'
understanding in these areas, including how to test their
ability to prove, analyze graphs, and interpret data. This
part of the course taught me that each topic requires
appropriate assessment strategies to accurately measure
the students' learning and thinking skills.

The Prefinal period covered higher-order skills like

problem-solving and mathematical communication. I
learned how to design performance-based assessments
that allow students to demonstrate what they know and
can do. We also studied item analysis, which is very
important in determining if test items are effective and
fair. These topics helped me understand how to evaluate
students holistically and how to use data to improve the
quality of my tests and instruction.
Taking the subject Assessment and Evaluation in
Mathematics has been a great learning experience. This
course equipped me with the theoretical foundations
and practical skills needed to design, select, and utilize
assessment tools effectively in teaching Math. I learned
how to create valid tests, construct rubrics, and evaluate
different areas of mathematical ability.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our
instructor, Mr. Teodoro R. Revidad, for sharing his
knowledge and guiding us throughout this semester. His
teaching made complex topics easier to understand, and
his patience helped us develop the competencies we
need as future Math teachers. Thank you for inspiring us
to be competent and confident in assessing and
evaluating learning.
As I move forward, I will apply all these lessons to
become a teacher who is not only good at teaching
numbers but also skilled in measuring and nurturing the
potential of every student.
