1. What is footnote?
Ans. A footnote is a note or reference written at the bottom of the
page.
It is marked in the text with a small number like this:
Example: This idea is important¹
And at the bottom of the page:
¹ Full reference or explanation

Why do we use Footnotes?


1. To give source (Reference)
When you use someone else’s idea, quote, or information
Example:
• book name
• author
• page number

2. To avoid plagiarism
Footnotes show that:
• this idea is not yours
• you are giving proper credit

3. To give extra explanation

• Sometimes you want to explain something without disturbing


the main text
• So you write it in footnote

Ans. An endnote is a reference or note given at the end of the


research paper (or chapter) instead of at the bottom of each
page.

Why do we use Endnotes?

2. To keep pages clean


Instead of filling every page with notes, we collect all notes at the
end

3. To add extra information

Extra explanation, comments, or details can be added without


disturbing main text
