40554A Classroom Lab Setup

Guide
Overview
This course has relatively few hands-on sessions for the students as most of the
content is non-Microsoft, generic networking theory. However, you will benefit
from having a simple virtual networked environment available to perform the
demonstrations.

Lab Configuration
The lab configuration consists of a physical instructor computer that has
connectivity to the internet. The installed operating system must support
Microsoft Hyper-V, and the necessary virtualization features must be enabled
and configured.

It is essential that the students have access to the internet. Many of the hands-
on samples and exercises require access to the internet. In addition to http/https
connections, students might also need access to Internet Control Message
Protocol (ICMP)/ping, and File Transfer Protocol (FTP) connections to the internet.

Instructor Server Requirements

You require a computer running Windows 10 Professional, Windows 10
Enterprise, or Windows 10 Education with the following hardware and software.
