Project Note 1 Software

A computer system is composed of hardware, the physical components like the CPU and RAM, and software, the intangible programs that operate the computer. Hardware includes devices that can be physically interacted with, while software is divided into system software and application software. Together, they process data and deliver output to users.

Introduction to Computer Hardware and Software

A computer system consists of two major components: hardware and software. Hardware refers
to the physical, tangible components of a computer that can be seen and touched. Examples of
hardware include the Central Processing Unit (CPU), Motherboard, Random Access Memory
(RAM), Hard Disk Drives (HDD), and Input/Output devices like the keyboard, mouse, and
monitor.

Software, on the other hand, is a collection of instructions, data, or programs used to operate
computers and execute specific tasks. It is invisible and cannot be touched. Software is
generally divided into two main categories: System Software (like Windows or Linux Operating
Systems) and Application Software (like Microsoft Word, Google Chrome, or VLC Player).

Both hardware and software work together to process data and provide meaningful output to the
user.
