WHOM
CHAPTER 1 — THE ARRIVAL
FADE IN:
EXT. EMPTY ROAD – NIGHT
(Cold wind.)
A lonely road stretches endlessly into darkness.
ELIAS walks slowly carrying an empty fuel can.
His clothes are dirty. His face exhausted.
The only sound:
his breathing.
And distant thunder.
He stops.
Far ahead—
A HOUSE.
Old. Silent. Waiting.
A faint porch light flickers.
Elias stares at it.
Almost afraid.
Then walks.
EXT. OLD HOUSE – NIGHT
The gate CREAKS open by itself.
The wind suddenly dies.
Silence.
Elias reaches the porch.
The front door is slightly open.
2.
INSIDE:
(darkness.)
He hesitates.
Then enters.
INT. OLD HOUSE – CONTINUOUS
Dust floats through the air.
The house smells old. Forgotten.
A hallway stretches unnaturally long.
At the end:
a dim light under a door.
Elias slowly walks toward it.
The floor CREAKS beneath him.
Halfway down—
The light suddenly goes out.
(Darkness.)
Then—
A WHISPER.
Very close.
“Why did you leave us?”
Elias freezes.
Breathing heavily.
HE TURNS.
Nobody.
But something moves in the corner of the hallway.
Not human.
3.
A blurred silhouette.
Watching.
CUT TO BLACK.
4.
CHAPTER 2 — MEMORY BLEEDS
_________________________
INT. LIVING ROOM – DAY (MEMORY)
WARM SUNLIGHT.
Children laughing.
Elias smiles for the first time.
His THREE CHILDREN run around him.
His wife, LENA, watches lovingly.
The image feels soft. Dreamlike.
Too perfect.
Then—
The sound distorts.
The children’s laughter slows unnaturally.
(Like a broken cassette tape.)
Lena’s smile fades.
The room darkens.
The children’s faces blur.
Their laughter becomes crying.
Elias looks around confused.
LENA (WHISPERING)
“You promised.”
The walls TREMBLE.
FLASH CUT:
INT. OLD HOUSE – NIGHT
Elias gasps.
BACK INSIDE THE HALLWAY.
Sweating.
5.
The house GROANS softly.
Whispers echo around him.
“Elias…”
HE STUMBLES BACKWARD.
Then notices:
FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHS LINING THE WALLS.
(But every photo has HIS FACE
scratched out.)
CUT TO BLACK.
CHAPTER 3 — THE CHILD’S ROOM
INT. CHILD’S BEDROOM – NIGHT
MOONLIGHT SPILLS ACROSS SCATTERED TOYS.
Tiny shoes. Crayons. Dust.
Frozen memories.
Elias kneels beside a crayon drawing.
A happy family holding hands.
But the father figure is colored completely black.
Elias begins trembling.
He picks up a framed wedding photo.
Lena’s face has been violently scratched away.
ELIAS (whispers)
“I never meant to leave…”
A child’s voice interrupts.
“Daddy?”
Elias freezes.
Silence.
6.
Then:
“Why didn’t you come back?”
Tears form in his eyes.
The wardrobe door slowly CREAKS open.
INSIDE—
His old clothes hang neatly.
Fresh.
As if waiting for him.
Then—
A blurred figure stands behind him in the mirror.
Elias turns instantly.
Nothing there.
But in the mirror—
the figure remains.
CUT TO BLACK.
CHAPTER 4 — THE SHADOWS
INT. HALLWAY – NIGHT
THE HALLWAY STRETCHES LONGER NOW.
Impossible geometry.
Doors appear where they weren’t before.
Lights flicker violently.
Elias hears overlapping memories:
LAUGHTER. SCREAMING. CRYING.
Fragments of conversations.
LENA (V.O.)
“You stopped loving us.”
7.
CHILD (V.O.)
“Daddy…”
ELIAS (V.O.)
“I’m trying…”
The walls pulse subtly. Like breathing.
Suddenly—
A GRAVESTONE appears at the end of the hallway.
Elias slowly approaches.
Rain begins falling indoors.
On the gravestone:
ELIAS MORETTI
Beloved Father
Elias steps backward in horror.
(The shadows emerge around him.)
(Distorted human forms.)
Smearing across walls unnaturally.
WHISPERS surround him.
“You buried yourself.”
(Dark hands grab him violently.)
Elias SCREAMS.
CUT TO BLACK.
CHAPTER 5 — STUCK IN TIME
INT. FAMILY HOME – DAY
ELIAS WAKES SUDDENLY.
Normal daylight.
Everything appears calm.
His family sits at the dining table.
Smiling.
8.
Too still.
Too perfect.
Lena looks at him.
LENA
“You’re late again.”
The children stare silently.
Unblinking.
Elias slowly backs away.
The room subtly darkens.
The children begin laughing.
But their mouths never move.
The laughter grows distorted.
(LOUDER.)
(LOUDER.)
Elias runs.
HE OPENS THE FRONT DOOR—
—AND ENTERS THE CHILD’S ROOM AGAIN.
Impossible.
He panics.
EVERY DOOR LEADS BACK TO THE SAME ROOM.
Again. Again. Again.
Time loops endlessly.
The house is learning him.
CHAPTER 6 — WHOM
INT. BASEMENT – NIGHT
A SINGLE HANGING LIGHT SWINGS SLOWLY.
9.
Elias enters cautiously.
THE BASEMENT IS EMPTY EXCEPT FOR:
A CHAIR.
AND A MIRROR.
Elias approaches the mirror.
HIS REFLECTION STARES BACK.
BUT DOESN’T MOVE.
THE REFLECTION LOOKS EXHAUSTED. BROKEN. OLDER.
REFLECTION
“You left them long before you walked
away.”
ELIAS BREAKS DOWN.
ELIAS
“I was afraid…”
THE REFLECTION STEPS CLOSER INDEPENDENTLY.
REFLECTION
“No.”
CLOSER.
REFLECTION (CONT'D)
“You were empty.”
THE LIGHT FLICKERS VIOLENTLY.
MEMORIES FLASH RAPIDLY:
(Lena crying. Children waiting
near windows. An empty chair at
dinner. Elias walking away.)
OVER AND OVER.
THE WHISPERS RETURN.
NOT ANGRY ANYMORE.
Sad.
10.
“Stay.”
Elias collapses crying.
ELIAS
“I’m sorry…”
(Silence.)
For the first time—
THE HOUSE BECOMES STILL.
(The shadows stop moving.)
(The reflection slowly disappears.)
DARKNESS FADES.
11.
FINAL SCENE
___________
EXT. EMPTY ROAD – DAWN
SOFT MORNING FOG.
ELIAS STANDS ALONE.
THE FUEL CAN BESIDE HIM.
THE HOUSE BEHIND HIM.
(Silent.)
(Motionless.)
(Waiting.)
ELIAS LOOKS BACK ONE FINAL TIME.
THE UPSTAIRS WINDOW NOW REVEALS:
A BLURRED SILHOUETTE WATCHING HIM.
OR MAYBE—
IT’S HIMSELF.
CUT TO BLACK.

(FINAL QUOTE)
“My regrets didn’t destroy me.
They became me.”

ENDING EXPLANATION
__________________
The audience never fully learns:
whether the house was supernatural,
whether Elias is dead,
or whether everything happened inside his mind.
Because the true horror is not the house.
It’s regret becoming identity.
That ambiguity is what gives the film its psychological
power.
