Title: My favourite singer: Bad gyal
● Who she is
Good morning/afternoon. Today I’m going to talk about my favourite singer, Bad Gyal. Her
real name is Alba Farelo, and she is a highly successful Spanish urban artist from
Barcelona. Although she is currently focused on commercial music, she started her career
years ago combining influences from dancehall and reggaeton, which is what made her
unique."
● When and how I discovered her music
"I discovered Bad Gyal’s music a few years ago when one of her songs, 'Fiebre,' went viral
online. I remember a friend shared the music video with me. Consequently, I listened to
more of her music and was instantly hooked. I think her lyrics and rhythm were so different
from everything else on the charts at the time. I quickly became a big fan of her catchy,
unique style."
● her image and fashion
"Her image and fashion are a huge part of her brand. She is well-known for her bold and
glamorous style, which is often very provocative. She frequently wears flashy outfits, lots of
jewellery, and is clearly influenced by the aesthetics of the early 2000s and urban culture.
Furthermore, she represents a new type of female empowerment in the music industry. Her
confidence in her image is something that many of her followers admire."
● Her cultural significance and impact
"I believe Bad Gyal's cultural significance is quite important, especially in Spain. She has
had a big impact because she helped popularise genres like trap and dancehall among the
younger generation, changing the sound of Spanish pop music. Moreover, she has
demonstrated that a female Spanish artist can achieve global success while maintaining a
distinctive and uncompromising image. Overall, she is a powerful voice for confidence and a
symbol of modern Spanish music."
