Unit 1 Final Project: Business Plan & Presentation
Overview
Now that we’ve explored different aspects of starting a business, it’s time to bring
everything together! For your final project, you will create a detailed business plan for
your own business idea and present it to the class. This is your chance to showcase your
creativity and demonstrate what you’ve learned throughout the unit.
Project Components
1. Business Plan (Written Document – 70 Marks)
Your business plan should include AT LEAST (add more for each section, answering these
questions will be the bare minimum and will not lead to a good grade):
1. Business Overview
a. Business name and industry
b. Mission and vision statement
c. Core values
2. Target Market
a. Who are your customers?
b. What problem does your business solve?
3. Products & Services
a. What does your business offer?
b. How is it unique?
4. Competitor Analysis
a. Identify at least two competitors
b. What are their strengths and weaknesses?
c. What will give your business a competitive advantage?
5. Marketing & Promotion Strategy
a. How will you attract customers?
b. What marketing channels will you use (social media, advertisements, word
of mouth, etc.)?
6. Revenue Model & Costs
a. What will your revenue sources be?
b. Estimated startup costs and budget

7. Short & Long-Term Goals
a. What do you want to achieve in the first year?
b. What are your growth plans for the future?
2. Business Presentation (20 Marks)
Each student will present their business plan to the class in a 3-5 minute presentation.
Your presentation should include:
• A clear and engaging introduction to your business
• A breakdown of key sections from your business plan
• Visual aids (slides, posters, or prototypes) to support your ideas
• A confident and professional presentation style
3. Reflection (10 Marks)
After completing your project, you will write a 1-page reflection answering the following
questions:
• What was the most challenging part of creating your business plan?
• What aspects of your business are you most excited about?
• If you had more time, what would you add or improve?
• How has this project helped you think about business differently?
