Trigonometry Formulas & Identities

1. Basic Pythagorean Identities

sin^2 θ + cos^2 θ = 1

1 + tan^2 θ = sec^2 θ

1 + cot^2 θ = csc^2 θ

2. Angle Addition & Subtraction Formulas

sin(A + B) = sin A cos B + cos A sin B

sin(A - B) = sin A cos B - cos A sin B

cos(A + B) = cos A cos B - sin A sin B

cos(A - B) = cos A cos B + sin A sin B

3. Double Angle Formulas

sin 2A = 2 sin A cos A

cos 2A = cos^2 A - sin^2 A = 2cos^2 A - 1 = 1 - 2sin^2 A

tan 2A = 2 tan A / (1 - tan^2 A)

4. Sum-to-Product & Product-to-Sum Formulas

sin A + sin B = 2 sin((A+B)/2) cos((A-B)/2)

sin A - sin B = 2 cos((A+B)/2) sin((A-B)/2)

cos A + cos B = 2 cos((A+B)/2) cos((A-B)/2)

cos A - cos B = -2 sin((A+B)/2) sin((A-B)/2)

sin A sin B = 1/2 [cos(A-B) - cos(A+B)]

cos A cos B = 1/2 [cos(A-B) + cos(A+B)]

5. Reciprocal Identities

sin x = 1/csc x

cos x = 1/sec x

tan x = 1/cot x

6. Derivatives

d/dx (sin x) = cos x

d/dx (cos x) = -sin x

d/dx (tan x) = sec^2 x

d/dx (sec x) = sec x tan x

d/dx (csc x) = -cot x csc x

d/dx (cot x) = -csc^2 x

7. Inverse Trigonometric Derivatives

d/dx (sin■¹ x) = 1/√(1 - x²)

d/dx (cos■¹ x) = -1/√(1 - x²)

d/dx (tan■¹ x) = 1/(1 + x²)

d/dx (cot■¹ x) = -1/(1 + x²)

8. Standard Integration Formulas

∫ sin x dx = -cos x + C

∫ cos x dx = sin x + C

∫ tan x dx = ln|sec x| + C

∫ sec x dx = ln|sec x + tan x| + C

∫ cot x dx = ln|sin x| + C

∫ csc x dx = -ln|csc x + cot x| + C

∫ sec² x dx = tan x + C

∫ x^n dx = x^(n+1)/(n+1) + C (n ≠ -1)

∫ e^(ax) dx = e^(ax)/a + C

∫ 1 dx = x + C
