Subject: Regarding Inability to Join School Due to Grandmother’s Death
Respected Ma’am,
I hope you are doing well.
I am writing this letter with a very heavy heart to inform you that due to unavoidable
circumstances, I am not sure if I will be able to join the school at this time.
Unfortunately, my maternal grandmother (my nani) has passed away. As there is no one
else to manage the situation, I have to travel to Kolkata today with my mother to perform
all the necessary rituals and shraddh ceremonies. We will be leaving tomorrow by train
through Tatkal booking along with my family. Because of this, I am uncertain about my
return to my hometown.
At the same time, there is a possibility that my Master of Science examination dates may
be announced soon, which may further delay my return because I will be travelling from
Kolkata - Rajasthan. It may take around 2.5 to 3 months for me to complete all
responsibilities and return.
Ma’am, I truly feel very sad to miss this opportunity that you kindly offered me. I was very
excited to join your esteemed institution. However, due to these unavoidable personal
circumstances, I am unable to proceed at this moment. I also do not want the school to
face any inconvenience because of my situation, so I felt it is my responsibility to inform
you honestly.
I sincerely hope you will understand my situation. In the future, if there are any vacancies
in August or next year, I would be very grateful if you kindly consider me again.
Thank you so much for your understanding and support.
Yours sincerely,
Ronish Paul
