METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Methodology of study includes approach and
design of the study setting of the study, population, criteria for
sampling ,sampling size,instrument,and scoring
procedure ,developing and testing of the stool, method of data
collection and plan for data analysis.
RESEARCH APPROACH
The research approach used in the study will be
quantitative research approach.
RESEARCH DESIGN
Research design adopted for this study will be
nonequivalent control group pretest post test only design which
comes under non experimental descriptive design
SETTING OF THE STUDY
The study was conducted among 1st and 2nd year
([Link]. Nursing) students in Arunai institute of nursing education
and research at Tiruvannamalai.
POPULATION
Population of the study has been selected [Link].
Nursing girls in Arunai institute of nursing education and
research at Tiruvannamalai
CRITERIA FOR SAMPLE SELECTION
INCLUSION CRITERIA
who are having irregular menstrual cycle
Who can understand Tamil and English
who are willing to participate in the study
who are available during study period
EXCLUSION CRITERIA
Adolescent girls who have previous knowledge
regarding pcod
Adolescent girls who have undergone for pcod
treatment
Adolescent girls who are not willing to participate
in the study
SAMPLING

The sample size consists of 30 samples(15 in control group
and in experimental group)

Convenient sampling technique will be used to
convenient of the investigator, the investigator selected the
samples who are fulfilled inclusion criteria. Data was collected
from Arunai institute of nursing education and research at
Tiruvannamalai

ASSESMENT OF DEMOGRAPHIC VARIABLES
Demographic variables such as age of adolescent girls,
education status of adolescent girls, family type ,family monthly
income,religion,BMI, menstrual cycle ,age of menarche, dietary
pattern ,junk food consumption. Physical activity, previous
history of Pcod, number of menstrual cycle day

ASSESSMENT OF KNOWLEDGE
Assessment of knowledge level by using modified self-
structured questionaries. They are totally 20 questions each
correct answer contains 1 positive mark and wrong answer
contain 0 negative mark.
DATA COLLECTION PROCEDURE
The investigator had obtained permission to conduct study
from [Link] Nursing 1st year and 2nd year students.
The study was conducted in Arunai institute of nursing
education and research at Tiruvannamalai.
The [Link] Nursing 1st and 2nd year students. Who met the
inclusion criteria. Where selected by using convenient sampling
method. The duration of interview ranged from 20 – 30 minutes
for each sample.
The data was collected by demographic variables and
assessment of knowledge was done by using multiple choice
questioners.
