(a) Describe any TWO factors that affect resistance of a metal conductor. (4 marks)
(b) Sketch a well labelled diagram showing ammeter and voltmeter connections in a circuit.

(c) An alternating voltage is represented by the expression v= 35 Sin (314.2 t) volt. Determine
the;
(i) maximum value (2 marks)
(ii) frequency (2 marks)
(iii) period of the waveform (2 marks)

(d) Given that the values of voltages across the resistors in Figure Q below are V1=5V, V2 =2V
and V3=6V

motive force of 1500 ampere-turns. (4 marks)

(d) 16. A 400kVA transformer has a primary winding resistance of 0.5Ω and a secondary
winding resistance of 0.001Ω. The iron loss is 2.5kW and the primary and secondary

voltages are 5 kV and 320V respectively. If the power factor of the load is 0.85, determine
the efficiency of the transformer on full load. (10 marks)
