Ahmad: ( quietly ) Ahem.

Subtitle: "If Ahmad is a good person — and he seems to be — his family is welcome here."
( Sophie smiles. A knock at the door. Everyone takes a breath. Then — from behind the door — the sound of an entire
Punjabi family arriving in the elevator: Chachu's voice, Naseema shushing, Dado's bangles jangling. )
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
🎭 SCENE 4 — THE ARRIVAL | FRONT DOOR
( Gabriel opens the door. What he sees: Naseema in her BRIGHTEST lawn suit, dupatta like a parachute. Dado in full
gold jewelry — a royal coronation. Chachu in shalwar kameez WITH a necktie on top ( nobody told him this doesn't
work ). Chachi in makeup so heavy it has its own gravitational pull. Zara — actually stylish, clearly the only one who
did research. Bilal — hair gel so thick that light bounces off his head. And Abu — calm, dignified, perfectly normal,
appearing to have arrived from a different family entirely. )
( Gabriel blinks once. Smiles. Does not break. )
Gabriel: Bienvenue chez nous. Je suis Gabriel.

INCIDENT
( Everyone is seated. Miss Emma and Miss Jade serve tea in the finest china. The table has macarons, croissants, petit
fours — arranged like an art exhibition. Naseema stares at the tiny portions the way a person stares at a WiFi signal
showing one bar. )
Sophie: ( gracefully ) Puis-je vous servir du thé ?
French: Puis-je vous servir du thé ?
Subtitle: "May I serve you some tea?"
Naseema: ( accepting cup, staring at a single macaron — whispers to Dado ) Ehhh... bas aitna khana ae?!

🎭 NARRATOR — CLOSING
Narrator 1 (English / Urdu):
And so two families — one from the banks of the Chenab, one from the banks of the Seine — sat together, ate
together, laughed together. And discovered what every human being secretly already knows: That love does not need
a translator. That kindness is the only language with no accent. That when you open your door — truly open it —
what walks in is not a stranger. What walks in is a story that was waiting to begin.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
🎭 MORAL OF THE STORY
1. Love has no borders, no language, no flag.
Ahmed and Sophie come from different worlds. But their love is real and brave. When two people truly care
for each other, their families — however different — can meet halfway.
2. Differences are not barriers — they are invitations.
The Desi family loves loudly. The French family loves quietly. Neither is wrong. Both are simply themselves.
When they finally sit together — warmth is found in unexpected places: a grandmother's nod, a father's real
laugh, a shared promise of biryani.
3. Courage creates connection.
Ahmad was afraid. Sophie was afraid. Both families were afraid. But when they chose to show up — with
their differences, their humor, their traditions — they found that the only wall between them was the one they
had built themselves.
"When you open your door to someone different — you don't just let them in. You let yourself out."
