I mean… 97 percent, debate nationals, student council, olympiads… if this doesn’t work,
what will?
Friend
Fair enough.
(Turns to Kabir)

Kabir (smiles slightly)
I’m just hoping I answer honestly without sounding confused.
Aarav (teasing lightly)
That’s usually what confused people say before interviews.
(Small light moment.)

What’s your percentage?
Kabir

You know the problem today? Average people disappear.

Aarav (slight pause)
Sir?
Interviewer
Something that defines you besides performance.
Aarav
Well… I’m hardworking. Competitive. Focused.
Interviewer
Competitive is common.
What makes people trust you?
(Aarav pauses slightly.)
Interviewer
Tell me about a failure.
Aarav
Sir, honestly, I try not to fail.
Interviewer
That wasn’t the question.
(Pause.)

Suppose success required compromising honesty. What would you do?
Aarav (half-smiles)
Sir… practical life is different.
People adjust.
(Audience reaction moment.)

And if everyone adjusts their values?
Who protects integrity then?
(Silence.)

Sometimes.
But I’ve realised consistency matters even when nobody notices it immediately.

Interesting.
What is leadership according to you?
Kabir
Taking responsibility before taking credit.

And success?

Success is important, sir.
But I don’t think success means much if people cannot rely on you.
(Pause.)

What would you choose:
being admired… or being trusted?

Trusted.
Admiration changes quickly.
Trust takes time.
