UNIT - I
1. a) Draw the hyperbola when the focus and the vertex are 25 mm apart. Consider [10M]
eccentricity as 3/2. Draw a tangent and normal to the curve at a point that is 35 mm
from the focus.
b) Circumscribe a hexagon about a circle of 60 mm diameter with one side horizontal. [4M]

2. One end of an inelastic string of length 180 mm is attached to the circumference of a [14M]
ring of diameter 50 mm and is tightly wound around the ring. Draw the curve traced by
the other end of the string when the string is unwound.
UNIT - II
3. a) A Point P is on HP and 30 mm in front of VP. Another point Q is on VP and 40 mm [7M]
above HP. The distance between their projectors parallel to XY line is 50 mm. Find the
distance between their front and top views of the points P and Q.
b) A 75 mm long line PQ is inclined at an angle of 30° to the V.P. The end P is on the H.P [7M]
and 30 mm in front of the V.P. The end Q is 50 mm above the H.P. Draw the
projections of the line.

4. A Hexagonal plane of side 30 mm has its corner on the HP. The surface of the plane is [14M]
inclined at 45° to the HP and the diagonal containing the corner is inclined 30° to the
VP. Draw its projections.
UNIT - III
5. a) A Pentagonal pyramid of base side 30 mm and axis 60 mm is resting on its base on the [6M]
VP. Draw its projections when a face is inclined at 45° to the HP.
b) Draw the projections of a cylinder 35 mm diameter and 50 mm long lying on HP with [8M]
its axis inclined at 450 to HP and parallel to VP.

6. a) A square prism of side of base 30 mm and axis 55 mm long lies on HP on one of its [8M]
longer edges with its faces equally inclined to HP. Draw its projections when its axis is
inclined at angle of 600toVP.
b) Draw the projections of right circular cone of base 40 mm diameter and height 60mm [6M]
when resting with its base on HP.
UNIT - IV
7. A square pyramid, base 40 mm side and axis 65 mm long, has its base on the HP and [14M]
all the edges of the base equally inclined to the VP. It is cut by a section plane,
perpendicular to the VP, inclined at 450 to the HP and bisecting the axis. Draw its
sectional top view, sectional side view and true shape of the section.

1. a) Construct a polygon (say pentagon) of 25 mm side. [4M]
b) A room of 1000 m3volume is represented by a block of 125 cm3 volume. Find the [10M]
R.F. and construct a plain scale to measure up to 30 m. Measure a distance of 18 m
on your scale

2. a) Draw a hypocycloid of a circle of 40 mm diameter which rolls inside another circle of [10M]
200 mm diameter for one revolution. Draw a tangent and normal at any point in it.
b) Construct a regular hexagon of side 30 mm when one side is horizontal. [4M]
UNIT - II
3. a) A regular pentagonal plate of side 28mm is placed with one side on H.P such that the [7M]
surface is inclined at 450 to HP and perpendicular to VP. Draw its projections.
b) A line AB is 40 mm long and inclined at 350 to V.P and parallel to H.P. The end A of [7M]
the line is 30 mm above H.P and 40 mm in front of V.P. Draw its projections.

4. The front view and top view of a line measures 55mm and 65mm respectively. Their [14M]
end projectors are 40mm apart and one end of the line is 10mm above the HP and in
the VP. Draw the projections and find the true length and true inclination of line.
UNIT - III
5. a) Draw the projections of a pentagonal prism, side of base 30 mm and axis 60 mm long [6M]
resting with its base on HP such that one of its rectangular faces is parallel to 10 mm
in front of VP.
b) Draw the projections of a cube of side 40 mm when it rests on the ground on one of [8M]
its corners and a face containing that corner is inclined at 30° to the ground and
perpendicular to VP.

6. a) A hexagonal prism, side of base 25 mm and axis 60 mm long, lies with one of its [7M]
rectangular faces on the HP such that the axis is perpendicular to the VP. Draw its
projections.
b) A Cone of base 40 mm diameter and axis 60 mm long touches VP on a point of its [7M]
base circle. Its axis inclined at 30° to the VP and parallel to HP. Draw its projections.
UNIT - IV
7. A pentagonal prism of base side 25 mm and height 55 mm is cut by section plane [14M]
perpendicular to VP and 300 to HP and passing through the axis 30 mm above the
base, draw the lateral surfaces development in the lower portion of the solid.

8. A cylinder, 65 mm diameter and 90 mm long, has its axis parallel to the H.P. and [14M]
inclined at 30° to the V.P. It is cut by a vertical section plane in such a way that the
true shape of the section is an ellipse having the major axis 75 mm long. Draw its
sectional front view and true shape of the section.

1. a) Draw the curve traced by a point on the circumference of a circle of 40 mm diameter, [10M]
which rolls on another circle of 160 mm diameter, for one complete revolution. Name
the curve.
b) Construct a pentagon in a circle of 50 mm diameter using the general method. [4M]

2. a) An area of 144 [Link] on a map represents an area of 36 [Link] on the field. Find the RF [10M]
of the scale, and draw a diagonal scale to show kilometers, hectometers and decameters
and to measure up to 10km. Mark a length of 7km, 5hm and 6dm on the scale.
b) Divide a straight line AB of 70 mm long into five numbers of equal parts. [4M]
UNIT - II
3. a) A point A is 35 mm above H.P and 30 mm in front of V.P. Another point B is 65 mm [6M]
behind V.P and 50 mm below H.P. Draw the projections of A and B, keeping the
distance between the projectors equal to 100 mm. Draw straight lines joining (i) the top
views and (ii) the front views.
b) A square plane ABCD of side 30 mm is parallel to H.P and 20mm away from it. Draw [8M]
the projections of the plane, when two of its sides are (i) parallel to V.P and (ii)
inclined at 300 to V.P.

4. a) A line CD measures 80 mm is inclined at an angle of 300 to H.P and 450 to V.P. The [8M]
point C is 20 mm above HP and 30 mm in front of VP. Draw the projections of the
straight line.
b) A regular hexagonal plane of 30 mm side has a corner at 20 mm from V.P and 50 mm [6M]
from H.P. Its surface is inclined at 450 to V.P and perpendicular to H.P. Draw the
projections of the plane.
UNIT - III
5. A hexagonal pyramid of 28 mm side of base and 65 mm height rests on HP on one of [14M]
its base edges such that the triangular face containing the resting edge is perpendicular
to both HP and VP. Draw its projections.

1. a) Construct a vernier scale to read distances correct to a decameter on a map in which [8M]
the actual distances are reduced in the ratio of 1:40000. The scale should be long
enough to measure 6 kilometers. Mark on the scale the lengths of 3.34 km and 0.57
km.
b) Construct a hyperbola when the distance between focus and directrix is 50 mm and [6M]
Eccentricity 3/2. Draw tangent and normal at any point on the curve.

2. a) Draw an involute of a circle of 40 mm diameter. Also, draw a normal and a tangent to [10M]
it at a point 100 mm from the center of the circle.
b) Construct a regular hexagon about a side of 25mm. [4M]

3. a) A point P is 20 mm below the H.P and lies in the third quadrant. Its shortest distance [6M]
from XY is 40mm. Draw its projections.
b) A line AB is 75 mm long. A is 50 mm in front of VP and 20 mm above HP. B is 15 [8M]
mm in front of VP and is above HP. Top view of AB is 55 mm long. Draw and
measure the front view. Find the true inclinations.

4. A Hexagonal plane of side 30 mm has an edge on the HP. Its surface is inclined at 450 [14M]
to the HP and the edge on which the plane rests is inclined at 300 to the VP. Draw the
projections.

5. Draw the projections of a cylinder, base 45 mm diameter and axis 50 mm long, when [14M]
it is resting on the ground on a point on its base circle with the axis making an angle
of 30 degrees with H.P.

6. A tetrahedron of 40 mm side rests with one of its edges on HP and perpendicular to [14M]
VP. The triangular face containing that edge is inclined at 300 to HP. Draw its

7. A cone, base 75 mm diameter and axis 80 mm long is resting on its base on the H.P. it [7M]
is cut by a section plane perpendicular to the V.P. inclined at 45° to the H.P. and
cutting the axis at a point 35 mm from the apex. Draw its front view, sectional top
view, sectional side view and true shape of the section
