Subject: Humble Request for Reduction in Course Repetition Fee

Respected Sir/Ma'am,

With the utmost respect and humility, I, Westar Javed, a student of the Department of
Microbiology, Government College University Lahore, beg to write this application on behalf of
my fellow students who are currently facing severe financial hardships. We earnestly request your
kind and compassionate consideration regarding the reduction of the course repetition fee.

It is respectfully submitted that a considerable number of students in our department, and


across the university at large, are currently experiencing acute financial difficulties. Many of our
peers come from middle- and lower-income families who are struggling to cope with the rising
cost of living, inflation, and unforeseen economic challenges. Despite these hardships, these
students remain deeply committed to their academic pursuits and are making every possible effort
to continue their educational journey.

The course repetition fee, in its current form, places an extraordinarily heavy burden on
such students. When a student fails or is required to repeat a course — often due to circumstances
beyond their control such as illness, family crises, or financial stress — the additional fee
compounds their existing difficulties manifold. In several instances, students have been forced to
consider abandoning their studies entirely, not due to a lack of dedication or intellectual ability, but
solely because of their inability to afford the repetition charges.

Government College University Lahore has always been a beacon of hope and opportunity
for talented students from all walks of life. The institution's proud legacy is built upon its
commitment to providing quality education without discrimination on the basis of financial
standing. We firmly believe that reducing the course repetition fee would be in line with this noble
mission and would reflect the university's enduring compassion towards its student body.

In light of the above, we most humbly and respectfully request your esteemed office to
kindly consider either reducing the course repetition fee to a more affordable level, or introducing
a tiered fee structure that takes into account the financial circumstances of individual students.
Alternatively, a merit-cum-need-based exemption or installment plan may also be explored, so that
no deserving student is deprived of education due to financial constraints.

We are hopeful that your honour, in your wisdom and benevolence, will give this matter
the urgent attention it deserves. Your positive response will not only provide relief to hundreds of
struggling students but will also reaffirm the university's commitment to inclusive and accessible
education. We shall remain ever grateful for your kind consideration.
