Daughters tribute:
A TRIBUTE TO OUR DEAR MUM
96 years ago, before any of us were born, you came into this world as a heavenly gift to your mum, dad
and in deed to the world. 22 years later you met our late dad and became the love of his life in marriage.
Your blessed union gave rise to 11 of us. You were a dear wife, mother, provider, caregiver and a
counsellor to all of us. Along the journey of life you lost your dear husband and 7 of us. Never the less
you remained resolute in your love, care, hard work and dedication to all of us. Never did we spend the
night hungry, fail to go to school on account of fees, or go without clothing. This is despite the fact that
in all your life you were never formally employed. You were a hustler as per the true meaning of the
word in deed you earned the nick name “Nyaciondo” because people would always see you with a
chondo on your back. The chondos did the magic and have ensured we grew up strong, healthy, well
clothed and educated. For that and many more we will for ever be thank full to you. On the early
morning of 18/12/2022 you were called to heaven by our dear God. Its with a heavy heart that we have
to let you go because of all you have been to us, but we are thank full to God for the many years of good
health He has given you. We will definitely miss you, and do know that things cannot be the same
without you, but we will never forget to thank God for the privilege of giving us a wonderful mother in
you for these many years. Fare thee well our dear mum till we meet again in heaven.
Grand children, tribute
A TRIBUTE TO GRANDMA
Today as I bid you bye my Cucu, Its with a heavy heart to accept the reality that you will not be
physically with us. I however wish to thank God for the gift of you in my life. I wish to celebrate the
many things you were to me:
You were not only a grand ma but played a role of a mother figure in my life. Since I was born you took
care of me and my brother Gichuru as our mother undertook her nursing college studies. This role
continued throughout my life and I recall with nostalgia how you took me in when I and my wife
relocated to Thogoto, you helped me settle down as a man by providing our first utensils, cooked our
first meals and even assisted us when moving from one rental house to another. These memories will
forever be engraved in my family. The warm love continued being showered to us in terms of the many
mukiomos you would prepare for us, the frequent visit to me in school (you would come and wait for
me in the parking lot until I am done with my lessons), the shopping you would assist us to do in the
market and on and on the list is endless.
You were a counsellor to me and stood by me in the many storms of life I was going through. You would
call my dear wife Muiru and would tell her that you and her will stick with me even when the going got
tough. I am a witness of the many times you have stood with my marriage and my family, for this I will
forever be greatfull.
Cucu dear I sincerely thank God for the gift that He gave you of unwavering faith in Him. I remember the
many times I would come for you and go with you to ACK Thogoto for Sunday worship, you were faithful
and dedicated in your church service which saw you attend catechism classes and eventual confirmation
even in your old age, a spiritual challenge to us your grand children and great grand children. Faith in
God has seen you through many challenging years of loss of sight and loss of mobility, but through all
this you would still encourage to keep our faith alive. The last words , you uttered in my hearing was on
27/11/2022 and it was our Lord’s prayer and the grace. May God rest your soul in eternal peace my
Cucu.

TRIBUTE TO OUR GREAT GRANDMA.
Maitu was a special woman. She had a knack for making everyone around her feel loved with a hug or a
smile no matter what day you were having. As for her great-grandkids, we’ll never forget the times we
spent with her. Even with her lack of sight she had a way of remembering most of us and would give us
random compliments of how we had added a couple of inches and even the tiny beards that puberty
granted us.
We who were blessed enough to know her before she lost her sight, know how spirited and
hardworking she was. You always had an extra hand to lend where you were needed and for that we
thank you. Thank you for bringing us these families and molding them into who they are now. Farewell
Maitu till we meet again. You ensured we had the word of God in our hearts by ensuring we said the
words of grace whenever we parted ways. As we part ways now I would like all of us to share the words
of grace one final time. “MAY THE GRACE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST AND THE LOVE OF GOD AND THE
FELLOWSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT BE WITH US NOW AND FOREVER MORE, AMEN.” Farewell Maitu, till
we meet again.
