Tell Me About Yourself (BDE Role – Natural, Strategic Answer)

“Hi, I’m Pooja Suryawanshi. I come from a healthcare background with a Bachelor's in Pharmacy, and
I’ve recently completed my MBA in Marketing. Over the past year, I’ve developed a strong interest in
international business development, especially where strategy and client engagement meet.
During my internship in social media marketing, I worked closely on content, campaign planning, and
engaging with clients in the hospitality sector. That experience taught me how to understand client
needs and communicate with clarity and purpose—skills that I believe are directly relevant to this BDE
role.
What really excites me about this opportunity is that it's not just about sales—it’s about creating
relationships, understanding market dynamics, and contributing to something bigger. Your mission,
“Changing People, Processes & Perceptions,” really resonates with me. I see this role as a chance to grow
into someone who can bridge gaps between client needs and business solutions with empathy,
adaptability, and a strategic mindset.
I’m eager to learn, contribute, and represent your brand with integrity in the European markets.”

“Can you explain your gap year?”

“Yes, after completing my graduation, I took a dedicated year to prepare for the CAT exam
because I was very clear about wanting to pursue an MBA from a good institute. That time helped
me strengthen my concepts, build discipline, and understand where I stood academically.
Although I didn’t get into a top IIM, the preparation itself gave me a lot — like structured thinking, time
management, and clarity about my career goals. It wasn’t just a gap; it was a phase of focused self-
investment, and I believe it helped shape the professional I am today.”

“Why do you want to work here?”

“I really admire your mission—changing people, processes, and perceptions—because it reflects
innovation, transformation, and human connection. As someone who’s genuinely interested in
helping businesses grow through meaningful conversations and efficient solutions, I feel aligned
with that vision. I want to be part of that change by contributing my skills in communication,
market research, and relationship-building.”

2. “Why should we hire you?”

“Because I don’t just want to meet targets—I want to create an impact. Your mission of changing
people, processes, and perceptions really resonates with me. I believe I can bring a fresh,
empathetic, and analytical approach to client conversations, making the experience smoother and
more insightful for them. I’ll also bring in feedback to improve internal processes and always try to
represent the company in a way that shapes positive perceptions.”

Q to ask "Are there chances to grow into a consulting role?"

2. Why do you want to work as a BDE in the international market?

Working internationally, especially in the European market, allows me to apply my communication and
research skills on a broader level. I enjoy learning about different business cultures, and I’m excited
about the opportunity to represent the company globally, create value for clients, and grow along with
the organization.

5. How would you generate leads for the European market?

I would start by identifying key industries aligned with our services. Using LinkedIn Sales Navigator,
company websites, and business directories, I’d build a list of decision-makers. Then I’d segment leads
based on country and industry to customize outreach strategies through email or cold calling.

12. How do you build trust with international clients in the first few conversations?
By being transparent, punctual, and respectful of their culture and time. I also make sure to follow up
with details and deliver on small commitments early to build credibility.
