Time Allowed: 1 Hour Full Marks: 30

1. A shopkeeper buys an article from a manufacturer for ₹12,000 and marks it up by 25%. He then [5 Marks]
sells it to a consumer at a discount of 10% on the marked price. If the rate of GST is 12% and the transaction is
intra-state, find the total GST paid by the shopkeeper to the Government and the final price paid by the
consumer.

2. The list price of an item is ₹40,000. A wholesaler allows a discount of 20% to a retailer. The [5 Marks]
retailer further allows a discount of 10% on the list price to a consumer. If the GST rate is 18% and all sales are
within the same state, calculate the Input Tax Credit (ITC) for the retailer and the total tax received by the State
Government.

3. Mrs. Sharma opened a recurring deposit account in a bank for a certain number of months. If she [5 Marks]
deposited ₹2,500 every month at 8% per annum simple interest and received ₹66,250 on maturity, determine
the time period of the account in years.

4. A man has a recurring deposit account of ₹1,200 per month for 2 years. At the time of maturity, he [5 Marks]
receives ₹30,456. Calculate the rate of interest per annum. If he had deposited the same monthly amount for 6
months longer at the same rate, find the new maturity value.

5. Find the range of values of x which satisfies the following inequation and represent it on a real [5 Marks]
number line:

-3 < -1/2 - 2x/3 ≤ 5/6, x ∈ R

6. Solve the following inequation and write the solution set. Also, find the smallest and largest values [5 Marks]
of x if x is a prime number:

11 - 2x ≥ 9 - 3x ≥ 3x - 15, x ∈ N
