GENERAL
1. LOCAL TRAFFIC REGULATIONS
1.1. PREFERENTIAL TAKE-OFF AND LANDING RUNWAY SYSTEM
In meteorological conditions with a tailwind component less than or equal to 7 knots, the preferred
take-off and landing runway will be runway 03 and/or 07. Such configuration will normally be used
in preference to the use of runway 21 and/or 25, provided that the runway surface is dry.
When the landing and takeoff runway system in use is runway 03 and/or runway 07, pilots who request
authorization to use the runway 21 and/or runway 25 system may have their request denied, due to
the volume of prevailing traffic and/or evaluation of ATC, in order to optimize the aerodrome's
traffic flow.
The following track system should preferably be considered:
- Runway 03/21: preferential use for turboprop and piston aircraft.
- Runway 07/25: preferential use for jet aircraft.
Pilots must perform taxi operations at the fastest speed permitted by standard operating procedures
and in compliance with operational safety, allowing ATC to apply minimum separation on final
approach.
All landing aircraft must ensure that the runway is completely clear before a complete stop. Pilots
must adjust the approach and landing to ensure the Minimum Runway Occupancy Time (MROT).
In Instrument Flight Weather Conditions (IMC), prohibited aircraft operation classified as
reference code number 3 and 4 on the runway 03/21.
- The initial call to the Approach after takeoff must be immediate and contain only the following
pattern: "BELEM CONTROL [CALL SIGN]". Do not include any additional information to the
aforementioned standard; and
- Turboprop or piston aircraft, await vectoring or clearance direct to a published waypoint shortly
after takeoff; and
- Unless otherwise instructed by ATC, pilots must inform the possibility of taking off from runway 07
from the intersection with taxiway C to guarantee MROT.
- DEP runway 07: Taxiway C:
Distance from Taxiway C to Threshold 25 - 8120' (2475m).
1.3. TAKE-OFFS
Pilots must be ready for departure when they reach the holding point. If not, inform the ground control.
- Alignment must be immediate as soon as authorized;
- Start rolling immediately after authorized (maximum reaction timeexpected: 10 seconds);
- Immediately make the initial call to Approach BELEM after takeoff, in order to obtain
instructions to free the axis from the runway;
- The initial call to the Approach after takeoff must be immediate and contain only the following
pattern: "BELEM CONTROL [CALL SIGN]". Do not include any additional information to the
aforementioned standard; and
- Turboprop or piston aircraft, await vectoring or clearance direct to a published waypoint shortly
after takeoff;
High Intensity Runway Operations (HIRO) will be applied between 13:30-15:00 UTC and 18:30-20:00 UTC
when SBBE is in Visual Flight meteorological conditions, with a dry runway. The HIRO schedule will
be communicated via ATIS. This operation will allow the reduction of runway occupancy time,
enabling the optimization of separation between aircraft on final approach, between takeoffs and
between landings/takeoffs, maximizing the use of runway capacity, minimizing the possibility of
go-arounds and reducing the time of waiting on the ground and in flight. Pilots must adjust landing
and takeoff to ensure the Minimum Runway Occupancy Time (MROT).
Pilots must remember that quickly exiting the runway allows ATC to apply minimum separation on
final approach, which will allow maximum use of the runway and will minimize the occurrence of
goarounds. All landing aircraft must ensure that the runway is completely clear before coming to
a complete stop. During landing, the pilot must clear the runway at the intersection or in the
first turning area, in order to guarantee MROT. Distance from threshold 07 to intersection 4478'
(1365 m), distance from threshold 07 to the first turn 5922' (1805m).
Pilots must clear the runway at the fastest speed permitted by standard operating procedures and
in accordance with operational safety, whether or not a backtrack is required, allowing ATC to
apply minimum separation on final approach. Aircraft with reference codes A, B and C must clear the
runway for landing and takeoffs on the taxiways indicated below or inform Belem Approach Control
and/or Tower Belem if they are not in a position to comply with this procedure.

Runway 07
Distance to the intersection 4478' (1365m) or perform the "backtrack" in the first turning area 5922'
(1805m) away.
Only operations aircrafts that can maintain a speed between 170-140KT IAS between the IF and the
FAF of instrument approach procedures, at times BTN 1330-1500 UTC and 1830-2000 UTC, will be
permitted. Normally the aircraft will receive vectoring and will be sequenced to the corresponding
final approach route to ensure the dynamic flow of air traffic

GENERAL
CAUTION: Birds in the vicinity of the airport.
Engine testing in parking apron in front of the control tower, AIS and MET prohibited.
Jet aircraft are prohibited to execute maneuvers to turn the tail towards the airport building.
Small aircraft operating on ground in the south sector of airport, part of the parking apron in front
of the passenger terminal, should do it with caution, due to lack of visibility from the control tower
in this sector.
Due to the occurrence of strong winds, it is recommended to tie down and block aircraft parked at
Aprons 5 and the General Aviation Terminal (TAG).
When departing from aprons 03 or 04, all aircraft must perform push-back.
