The charts below illustrate the percentage of time that male and female students
spend on five different types of websites.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make
comparisons where relevant.

→ While the proportion of time spent by males on study websites was 30%, the figure for
time allocated by females was 45%.
→ The percentage of time spent by/ allocated by male students on study websites was
30%, which was 15% lower than their counterparts.
→ Time allocated by male students on study websites accounted for 30%, compared to
45% of time spent by female pupils.

The two pie charts illustrate the proportion of online time spent by male and female
students on different kinds of websites.
Overall, female students had the highest proportion of time to study websites,
whereas male students spent more time on sport sites. Especially, both genders allocated
the same percentage of time to other types of websites.
In terms of male students, sport websites accounted for 35%, ranking the first
compared to the others. Study related websites ranked second among males boysstudent
boys, making up 30% of their total online time. Meanwhile, news sites constitute 20%, ….

remaining 10% of time was spent on other types of websites.
Regarding the term female students, a contrast pattern can be observed. Study
websites accounted for 45%, which was higher than the figure for male students. Shopping

websites represented a smaller share at 15%, sport websites only 10%, ranking the lowest
category compared to the other. Similarly to male, 10% of their time is spent on other kinds
of websites.
Some people think that schools should select students according to their academic abilities,
while others believe that it is better to have students with different abilities studying
together. Discuss both views and state your own opinion.
