Topic: In many countries, children are becoming overweight and unhealthy.
Some people
think that the government should have the responsibility. To what extent do you agree or
disagree ?
Nowadays, more and more children in the world are becoming obese and weak. In my
opinion, this issue is a potential threat to the healthy of the younger generation and the
government needs to address this problem. I think that responsibility not only that of the
government but also of the family and schools.
To address this issue, I think the government needs to take the following solutions.
Firstly, I suppose the government should establish an organization dedicated to managing
nutrition and food safety standards in the schools. For instance, this organization can propose a
daily menu for the school canteen so that the nutrition of the children could be controlled,
ensuring that they receive balanced meals that promote healthy growth and development , thus
reducing the rate of overweight and obesity among children. Secondly, the government can
organize educational programs in schools to raise awareness among children and parents about
healthy eating habits, the benefits of exercise, and the health risks associated with overweight
and obesity, thus it helps children realize the danger of uncontrolled eating habits. Addtionally,
the government can support physical education programs for children and encouraging them to
participate in physical activities to maintain health and reduce overweight and obesity. These
programs may include sports classes, school sports events, or outdoor activities.
Nevertheless, placing the entire burden on the goverment to address this concern is
inadequate. Parents and families hold a important position to reduce the rate of overweight and
obesity among children. An important role of parents in reducing the rate of overweight and
obesity in children is providing a healthy diet and setting an example for healthy lifestyle habits.
Parents can prepare nutritious meals, limit foods high in sugar, fat, and fast food, and encourage
children to participate in physical activities. Futhermore, educational institutions also share a
significant responsilbility in this mater. Schools can organize regular physical education classes,
encourage students to participate in sports activities, and engage in outdoor play. Additionally,
schools can provide healthy meals in the canteen, ensuring that students receive adequate
nutrition and limiting unhealthy food options.
In conclusion, the issue of children obesity is an urgent problem today, and the
responsibility of reducing the obesity rate lies not only with the government but also with the
cooperation between parents and schools.
