Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my strong interest in the SOC Analyst (Level 1) position at


Keyrock. With an MEng in Computer Science with Cyber Security from the
University of Southampton and hands-on experience in technical support, incident
detection, and cloud security, I am confident in my ability to contribute effectively
to your Security Operations Centre team.

In my current role at 4Com Technologies Ltd, I deliver 1st and 2nd line support,
diagnosing and resolving complex hardware, software, and connectivity issues for
VoIP and networking systems. This experience has honed my ability to remain
calm and analytical under pressure—skills essential for handling concurrent, time-
sensitive SOC incidents. My work with the Southampton University Cyber Security
Society further developed my skills in server administration, threat analysis, and
promoting security awareness, while my project experience includes conducting
digital forensics investigations, malware analysis, and building secure cloud-
based systems using AWS and Linux.

I have a strong foundation in networking (including IP addressing, routers, and


switches), vulnerability identification (Burp Suite, Wireshark, Metasploit), and
programming (Python, Java, Bash). My academic and practical experience with
compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST, combined with my ability to
communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, align well with
Keyrock’s commitment to security, compliance, and customer service.

I am eager to join an inclusive and innovative team like Keyrock’s, where I can
further develop my SOC expertise and contribute to protecting clients in a rapidly
