Earth’s Environment
Earth is a unique planet filled with life, beauty, and natural resources. It provides
everything living things need to survive, including air, water, food, and shelter. The environment
includes forests, rivers, oceans, mountains, soil, and the atmosphere that surrounds the planet.
Each part plays an important role in keeping Earth healthy and balanced.
Forests are often called the “lungs of the Earth” because trees absorb carbon dioxide and
release oxygen. They are also home to many animals, birds, and insects. Oceans cover more than
two-thirds of Earth’s surface and are filled with countless forms of life. They help control the
planet’s temperature and provide food and livelihoods for millions of people around the world.
However, Earth’s environment is facing serious problems. Pollution from factories, cars,
and plastic waste is harming the air, water, and soil. Cutting down too many trees leads to
deforestation, which destroys habitats and contributes to climate change. Global warming,
caused by an increase in greenhouse gases, is melting ice caps, raising sea levels, and changing
weather patterns.
People can help protect the environment by making small but meaningful changes.
Recycling, saving water, planting trees, and reducing plastic use can make a big difference.
Using renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power can also reduce pollution. When
individuals and communities work together, they can protect Earth for future generations.
Taking care of the environment is everyone’s responsibility. If we respect and protect our
planet, it will continue to support life and remain a beautiful home for all living things.
