technology for contact with other people.

With the unprecedented advancement of technology, the usage of digital devices for
communication becomes prevalent more than ever. This development has double-
edged influences on the both personal growth and social improvement as a whole due
to some reasons discussed in this essay.

On the one hand, there is no denying that technological information exerts long-term
positive impacts on individuals and society. The assistance of social platforms on the
internet, people might contact or communicate with like-minded individuals without
any geological barriers, leading to an increase of interpersonal relationships and
cultural exchange. Furthermore, digital services enable individuals have more
opportunities to express themselves on more personal level, instilling a sense of self-
expression and confidence from their intrinsic motivation. Additionally, technology
benefits significantly in the workplace, allowing to perform tasks more effectively
through video meeting, file-sharing or even online discussion.

On the other hand, this improvement might face potential challenges. The excessive
accessibility of technological platforms results in health problems like short-sighted,
cardiovascular disease,…. due to an escalating tendency of sedentary lifestyles. The
disadvantage derives from social platforms causes a fear of face-to-face
communication or real relationships as they stuck in their virtual captivity regularly.

In conclusion, while the development of technological era offers potential


disadvantages for people’s life, these advantages might outweigh these ones. In order
to achieve the most effective performance from technology, people should learn how
to use this device appropriately and not let it control our mind like robots.
