I . TESTS ADMINISTERED
1. Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence, 2nd Edition (WASI-II. India )

2. Specific Learning Disability Assessment (Schonell Graded Word Reading & Graded Spelling Test)

II. GENERAL TEST BEHAVIOUR

He was compliant and polite and did not appear nervous during any part of the testing.
Physical appearance was appropriate to his age. Rapport could be established easily . Eye to
eye contact was found to be adequate. He seemed to understand the tasks at hand and
remained attentive throughout the course of the testing process. He appeared fully oriented to
person, place, time, and situation. He could comprehend the test instructions. He could speak
fluently, language and communication was found to be normal.
III. Problem Behaviour Reported & Observed.

[Link] Prasadh has difficulty in academic performance – particularly in reading Tamil, and
Maths. Parents also observed that he is always active, interest in other activities.
IV. TEST FINDINGS :

 On Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence, 2nd Edition (WASI-II. India )- his IQ


range (96) fall into the category of Average (normal range) Intellectual Functioning.
 On Specific Learning Disability Assessment, findings as follows,
 On reading Test- he has difficulty in reading, such as guessing at the words, spells out
but not able to coin the word, reads word by word – reading age was placed at 9 years
and grade at 4th std.
 On spelling Test- he has difficulty in spelling such as spelling errors , missed out letters
–spelling age was placed at 8 years and grade at 3rd std.
 On Tamil reading – severe difficulty in reading and spelling
 On writing – slowness was present.

 On Arithmetic test - He also has difficulty in higher level of multiplications and


divisions.

SUMMARY
[Link] Prasadh is a 14 years 7 months old male who was brought with the
complaints of lack of concentration and difficulty in learning. On the IQ assessment, Full-4 IQ
score of 96 indicates Average Intellectual Functioning .

On Specific Learning Disability Assessment, he has difficulty in reading and spelling


in Tamil Language and Mathematics. .

RECOMMENDATIONS:

 Parental counseling.-
 He would benefit from – one to one tutoring - remedial class.
