Slump Test
A concrete slump test measures the consistency of a concrete batch to see how easily the concrete will flow. The test
not only observes consistency between batches, but it also identifies defects in a mix, giving the operator a chance to
amend the mix before it is poured on site.
+ Slump Test has 6step to do as below
Note:
Contractor to regularly conduct slump test of
concrete.
Any batch that has slump exceeding or less
than 12±2.5cm shall be rejected.
Contractor to prepare concrete samples in
case of random testing later on.

Stump column the part of the column that remains fixed in place while the upper portion has been removed or damaged.
Column stumps are commonly found in archaeological sites or historical buildings where columns have been partially destroyed
or decayed over time.

Anti-termite Treatment By Using Pre-construction Soil Treatment Method
Pre Construction Anti Termite treatment is performed prior to the completion of the building. The soil, building pillars, and
other joints are treated with chemicals to prevent termites in this anti-termite treatment.
The most effective technique to avoid termite attack in buildings or residences is to apply anti-termite treatment before to
construction. Chemicals are used to treat the soil beneath the foundation. To keep termites out of the structure, a chemical
barrier is created between the ground and the foundation brickwork.
Step 1
1
• Preparation the surface of ground should be dry and
clean
• Soil treatment for anti termite should begin when
foundation trenches and pits are ready
• When it is raining or the soil is wet with rain or sub-soil
water, treatment should be avoided
• The above rules also apply to the treatment of the filled
earth surface inside the plinth area prior to installing the
floor subgrade
Page 33
Step 2
1
• The chemical should be injected three times in a certain
order into the ground 2meter around column/perimeter.
Page 33
Step 3
1
• The chemical should be administered at a rate of 2-3
liters per square meter.

Ground Slab
Definition
Ground slabs are those slabs that are poured directly into excavated trenches in the ground. They rely entirely on the
existing ground for support. The ground must be strong enough to support the concrete slab.

Applying Floor Hardener
+ Wait until surface bleed water has disappeared and concrete is stiff enough to support foot traffic
without deformation (usually when fingerprints are only slightly visible).
+ Apply floor hardener evenly over the surface.
+ Allow it to absorb surface moisture, then work the surface using trowel as the concrete stiffens.
+ Finish to the desired texture (smooth or non-slip).

Super-Structure Work
Column Work
Definition
Columns are defined as vertical load-bearing members supporting axial compressive loads chiefly. This structural member is
used to transmit the load of the structure to the foundation. In reinforced concrete buildings beams, floors, and columns
are cast monolithically

AAC Block Works
Definition
AAC (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) blocks are lightweight, durable, and eco-friendly building materials. AAC blocks have
been gaining popularity as a sustainable and cost-effective building material in recent times. The blocks are lightweight,
easy to handle and have good insulation properties.
Page 41
AAC Block Installation
Preparation of foundation:
The foundation must be level and stable, and the walls must be straight and plumb. The AAC blocks must be supported by a solid concrete
footing or a reinforced masonry bond beam.
Laying the blocks:
The AAC blocks are laid on top of a bed of mortar and are spaced apart to allow for the application of mortar to the vertical joints. The blocks
are then tapped gently into place to ensure a tight fit using rubber mallet. Seismic Gaps: Put 15mm - 20mm seismic gap between the AAC blocks
and beams and columns.

Mortar Mixing Process
Page 45
Work Process
Step 1
1
Preparing the Foundation
It is necessary to prepare a solid base/foundation before laying the AAC blocks. You have to
follow these steps to do so:
• Clear the area of any debris, vegetation, or obstructions.
• Excavate the soil to the required depth, ensuring proper drainage.
• Use a plate compactor to create a stable base of soil.
• Install a layer of geotextile fabric to prevent soil erosion and provide additional stability.
• Finally, pour a layer of concrete to create a leveled foundation for your AAC block.
Step 2
2
Plan the Layout
Next, you have to plan the layout of your wall. Measure the
dimensions of your wall. Mark them on the foundation. Use a
chalk line or a string to create reference lines for accurate
alignment. Consider door and window openings, corners, and
the position of electrical and plumbing fixtures.
Page 46
Step 3
3
Preparing the Mortar
AAC blocks are usually laid using thin-bed mortar. The mortar
mix consists of cement, sand, and water in the ratio of 1:6:1.
This should be mixed well until it reaches a uniform consistency.
Apply a layer of mortar on the foundation, following the
reference lines. Use a trowel to spread the mortar evenly,
creating a bed for the AAC blocks. Leave spaces for vertical and
horizontal reinforcement, such as steel bars or mesh, as
specified by the structural engineer.
Step 4
4
Placing the AAC Block, Filling the Joints & Reinforce
1. Carefully place the AAC blocks on the mortar bed, starting at one corner.
2. Apply a thin layer of mortar on the top surface of each block before laying the next
one.
3. Use a spirit-level tool to ensure that the blocks are level and plumb.
4. For corners and edges, cut the AAC blocks using a handsaw or a specialized AAC
block cutter.
5. Continue placing the blocks, maintaining proper alignment, and ensuring that the
joints are filled with mortar.
6. Once the AAC blocks are in place, fill the vertical and horizontal joints with mortar
with the help of a pointing trowel. Ensure that the mortar is evenly distributed and
tightly packed.
7. Install vertical and horizontal reinforcement, such as steel bars or mesh. This
reinforcement provides additional strength to the AAC block wall/structure,
especially in areas susceptible to seismic activity or high wind loads.
Page 47
Step 5
5
Finishing the Surface
Once the mortar dries up, use a wire brush to remove excess mortar. Clean the surface of the AAC block wall. Apply a coat of
water-based paint or a render finish to protect the blocks from moisture and enhance their appearance (optional). If you wish,
you can also apply plaster or render to achieve a smooth finish. Allow the finish to dry completely before proceeding with
further construction or interior finishes.

Work Process
Step 1
1
Surface Preparation
• Inspect walls for cracks, holes, grease, or loose material.
• Clean surfaces with dry cloth or water (if needed).
• Repair any damaged plaster, holes or cracks using putty or filler.
• Allow surfaces to dry completely.
• Sand the surface for a smooth finish and remove dust with a
clean cloth.
Step 2
2
Priming
• Apply one coat of primer using a brush or roller.
• Allow primer to dry (as per manufacturer’s drying time,
usually 6–8 hours).
• Light sanding may be done after drying for a smooth base.
• Wipe off dust before paint application.
Page 46
Step 3
3
Painting Application
• Mix paint thoroughly before application.
• Apply the first coat of paint using brush, roller, or spray.
• Allow it to dry for 4–6 hours (as per paint specifications).
• Light sanding may be done if surface is uneven.
• Apply the second coat for a uniform finish.
• Additional coats may be applied if necessary for opacity and
color depth.
Step 4
4
Curing and Clean Up
• Let the painted surface dry for 24–48 hours.
• Avoid touching or staining surfaces during curing.
• Clean all tools and equipment with water or thinner.
• Remove masking tape and coverings carefully.
• Dispose of leftover material and waste responsibly.
