New script (adya’s version)
STRICTLY DO NOT TOUCH
Scene 1
Narrator- *Narrator rises from the audience with a newspaper in hand along with a takeaway cup of coffee
and walks towards the stage, gets to the chair in middle of stage, sits down, sighs and starts reading the
newspaper headline loudly.*
“Doomsday or just another day? Fears Rise as 1999 Ticks Away.”
*The narrator gets up and walks to podium, dragging and scrapping his chair loudly. She sits down
expecting a mic to be handed to her, totally ignoring the one planted on the podium, she waits a few
seconds before looking up to the podium, realising shes going to have to stand throughout it all. She
groans, rolling her eyes and stands up to speak.*
“Good morning respected teachers, principal *raises her cup to her and then takes a sip* and..students
*showing a dismissive wave of hand* Today, i’ll be your super charismatic, totally non-arogant and lovable
*sing songly* guide through this drama put together by our dear topaz who has a streak of never getting
anything above 3rd position *
she says, thinking it was funny, looks up to see no one laughing and her laughter dies down as she groans
and comments
Tough Crowd
and gets back to speaking again monotonously OR if the audiences laughs, she laughs with them like
‘nice joke, right?’*
Regardlessl, they have put their heart into it, lets see what they’ve come up with. day is set in—” The
*Rishabh walks by, gives a weird look to our narrator.”
Teacher: Who are you talking to, narrator?
Narrator: Oh, no..one. *she says, looking at the audience with a frown and waving her hand dismissively.*
Teacher: *walks away shaking his head giving narrator a weird look*
Narrator: “Set in 1999’s new years eve.” *hurriedly rushes off the stage*
*California love intro plays as friend group enters from both sides of the stage, bopping their head and
talking with each other. It’s dispersal period*
kNS1: What’s up homeboy? *daps up kanav s*
kS1: Dawg, how are you so casual about this? Aren’t you worried about tonight?
KNS1: Worried? For what? It's literally new years, we’re going into 2000s! This year is going to be the
bomb, my brotha!
AS2: You’ve been saying this for a few years now, this is NOT your year or anyone's for that matter, the
world is about to end!
NS2: The world is about to what? What are you guys on about?
S3: Oh my god *in worried shaking voice* you guys are so clueless! *worried/aggravated*
NS3: Girl no, we’re not clueless it's literally all about a computer defect, you guys are thinking too much.
S3: Well of course i know that and it’s going to cause planes to crash, economies to fail, shortage of food
and whatnot, have you even seen the news?!
*The narrator speaks up*
“*Scoffs* Scoffs “Yeah right, like the news never exaggerates.”
*While the narrator speaks this, the friend group is having a hushed down banter, and one of the quieter
non-skeptic looks at the narrator and speaks up.*
NS4: “who are you talking to, miss?”
*rookie enters (sneaks up) and just stands there without saying anything, crossing his arms*
S4: “Man, she’s my homeroom teacher and she’s always weird like this..”
Rookie: i know right..i saw her talking to herself yesterday too.
*majority of friend group jumps at his voice as everyone was focused on the narrator. Meanwhile, the
narrator takes the chance to hurry off the stage, crouching slightly while covering her face with a piece of
paper*
KS1: “Man, what are you even wearing?” *he says, shaking his head, all weirded out*
Rookie: “Oh! This?” *he says, looking down to his weird metal cutlery attire, with a pot on his head* “This
is my armour for the night!” *He says, looking all proud, with a smile*
S3: “Okay, you know what..even i think this too much.” *she says, shaking her head and raising her
hands*
Rookie: Too much?! You guys are prepared too less!
*He says as his armour falls apart and everyone covers their ears at the noise of the metal plate armour
falling*
S4: Prepared my foot! *she scoffs*
NS4: Ignore him guys! Are you seriously giving the rookie importance?
S2: On god, i’m not wasting our last day on this precious earth wasting time like this. Bid goodbye
already!
*Everyone is saying goodbye, hugging it out while bye bye bye by nsync plays, the rookie makes a weird
face, points his thumb to the friend group and looks at the audience being all like
“isn’t a sentimental song supposed to play during this time?”
meanwhile the narrator looks at him shook that he can break the fourth wall as well*
Pranshu pretend fighting and jayant screams kya kr rha hai ask adya or kanav for more info

S1: hey this is too much now
**mute me arguments
*Teacher enters from side of the set
“Alright, alright, break it up, children. I’ve been standing here like a disappointed parent watching this
whole circus unfold.
looks at the sceptics
You might actually have a point… but let’s not act like you’ve unlocked enlightenment. Half of you are just
reverse-following the crowd and calling it ‘independent thinking.’ That’s not rebellion, that’s just… a trend
with extra steps.
turns to non-sceptics
And you? Don’t get too comfortable. You call yourselves friends but let people walk straight into obvious
traps like it’s a field trip. You see the red flags, wave at them, and then laugh when someone else trips
over them. Amazing teamwork, really.
Honestly, both sides need to chill. Think for yourselves, not for applause.
Now, before this turns into a full fight, maybe go back to ur desks… you’re already 15 minutes late and
none of you look smart enough to afford that.”
**all actors bow down as the show ends**
*narrator waits for applause (if any) to stop at podium
Narrator- also kids remember even if the world is ending the attendance is still mandatory
*while all cast stares at principal ma'am or any other figure of authority if she is not there
