ABSTRACT

This internship, conducted at the Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTTC) in Mysuru,
provides a comprehensive overview of modern industrial practices and precision engineering.
The program bridged the gap between theoretical academic learning and practical
implementation across several core mechanical engineering domains, including Computer-Aided
Design (CAD), Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining, metrology, and robotics

Through hands-on training with industrial software such as Siemens NX for 3D modeling and
assembly, Sinutrain for CNC programming simulation, and [Link] Pro for robotic workcell
visualization, the internship developed essential technical skills in digital manufacturing. The
training further emphasized quality control through exposure to advanced inspection instruments
like Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and the application of tooling concepts such as jigs
and fixtures to enhance production accuracy.

The experience successfully fostered technical confidence, professional discipline, and a

systematic approach to problem-solving. Ultimately, the internship provided a foundational
understanding of the interconnected workflows in design, manufacturing, and automation,
preparing the student for a career in the core mechanical engineering industry.
